Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I had two 3280 garage door units installed with remote controls.  After 6 months the remotes refuse to work.  I can stand outside, right in front of the garage door and they still won't work.  Nothing in our home has changed. I have no LED lights.   These 2 units replaced a couple of Sears units we had for 15 years.  We never had any problem with the Sears units.  The reason for the change was that one panel on one of the garage doors needed to be repaired, and like a fool I let the sales person talk me into installing Liftmaster units.

Liftmaster REFUSES to honor their warranty and say it is outside interferrence.  Something they seem to blame every complaint on after reading reports on the internet.  Nothing in my home has been changed and no new equipment has been brought in and no frequencies have been altered regarding other products in my home. I also live out in the country and there are no homes within close enough range to interfer with the equipment.   It is pure and simple their inferior products they are pawning off on people.

People need to be aware this is a Rip Off Company  and to beware before they do business with them.

You are saying, all of a sudden, out of the blue the frequency is being affected by the military.    It worked like a charm for 5 1/2 months, then all of a sudden it quit working.  I live way out in the middle of nowhere in the country. To one side of me is 1850 acres of raw land, and the back is 900 acres of raw land.  No neighbors or others can interfer.  Did the military just change frequencies overnight to make it quit working after working for 5 and 1/2 months perfectly every time?  That is the biggest bogus line I have heard...straight from liftmaster.  That is akin to saying the military is responsible for a freezer compressor to quit working.  It is more likely that the units are bad or quit working.  After all they are made in China / Mexico.

For 15 years I had garage door openers and never had a problem with frequencies on them.....but they were not Liftmasters.  I had a door panel get bent on one of the doors, and I wanted a new panel for the bottom panel on  the door.  I, very foolishly, let the young gentleman take out my reliable garage door openers I had used for 15 years and replace them with new quieter ones.  That was a huge mistake since these don't work after 5 1/2 months.  Liftmaster is just refusing to honor their warranty and have taken the low road trying to blame it on the military and air waves and frequencies.  Much like the Auto Industry refusing to do recalls until it affects thousands upon thousands of customers.

Sorry, I just don't buy it.  Maybe I would if I was living in a city.  But for the military to just change their frequencies overnight one night is absurd.  That is something Liftmaster and their management dreamed up so they wouldn't have to honor any of the warranties since you can't prove the FCC and military are behind it.  If it was the military and FCC then there would be problems arising from a definitive time....but people all over for quite some time and different time periods have been having these problems with Liftmaster equipment and it didn't start for others at the same time as it did for me.

and it has nothing to do with anything at your house.

It does, however, have everything to do with the usage of the frequency used by the remotes,

The frequency is assigned by the FCC for remotes and emergency services usage.  The emergency services are increasingly, now using the frequencies.  The FCC advisory, either on the remotes or the paper work that came with them advises that if usage of the remote causes interference to other services it must NOT be used and if interference from other services happens, it must be tolerated.

It's NOT just liftmaster.  Don't know what, if any, recourse you have. BTW, I DON'T work for Liftmaster.

Your beef is with the FCC, and will go nowhere.
