Complaint Review: The Farrington Apartments - WRH Realty - Columbia South Carolina

to whom it may concern,

i live in one of your rental properties (the farrington). there has been a lot of problems that have been occuring in my apartment since we moved in, in October of 2008. We have had problems with our heat in the winter as well as problems with our dish washer which is still broken. then came the sink which they attempted to fix with the dish washer but never completed. there was a hole cut out in the middle of my kitchen wall that has been that way since november of 2008. then came the sink in the downstairs bathroom. that problem was fixed in a timely matter.

then came the shower in the upstairs bathroom, which as well at the time was fixed. now came the leak in my dinning room. first problem with that is they didnt even know where the leak came from first off, they started a job and never finished it. in the process of trying to "fix" the leak problem, we were without water for a week. which was told to the people that were working on my house and they fixed that problem as well. they started to put vinyl down in our dinning room which is where the leak was and never completed that job.

as many appointments that were scheduled to come complete the job for my apartment, they were missed as well. and i say that because, management says that they do not enter my apartment without anyone home because we have dogs. so me and the other occupant of the residence made arrangements to be home and no one showed. so that meant that we missed out on work for ur company and still nothing is completely finished.

another problem i have is that you guys have the audacity to put a notice on my door wanting me to pay you for rent, why would i pay rent when you have me living in a poor condition. the job is still yet to be finished but u want me to pay u? that doesnt make sense to me. i have tried to call the corporate office and still nothing. i've tried to talk with Stephanie and we never seem to agree on anything.

now i must say, the way management deals with residence is unacceptable. while trying to talk to Stephanie, she gets very disrespectful and she has hung up the phone on me. i even tried to go to the office and speak with her and she and other memebers of management sat in the office with the door locked and never came to see what was needed. so i ask u again, why would you even consider the fact that i'll pay you rent when you never completed the task that you started.

the hole is still in the wall, the floor is not complete, the dish washer is still broken and u sent some guy to repair the hole and he came and said he was coming back and i have not seen him since. i dont understand how they can let us out of our lease without penalties but not waive rent for a month? i have been trying to be cordial about the situation and i feel like the management team have been and still are taking advantage of me. i end this letter by saying, they have already received half of the rent for may and since we only received half a finish project, then there shouldnt be anything else we owe them. it will remain that way until the project is finished.
