The Goins Group Charitable Donation is a Guise for Signing you Up for a Monthly Newsletter that is a Puff Piece to Promote Seminars Lake Wylie South Carolina
In December of 2008, I received an email from Larry Goins who, in turn for making a $1 donation to charity, would provide various real estate information for free. In the signup for the real estate info there is a screen that gives a 30 day trial subscription to the Ultimate Investors Report. I received this report in the mail on or about Dec 26 well after signing up for this. After reading it, I decided that it was not a professionally written publication and certainly not worth $30/mo. Less than 30 days after the receipt of the publication, I sent an email to cancel. They told me that they billed my credit card on the 9th, 30 days after I signed up electronically--not 30 days from the receipt of the publication.
Using the guise of charity to bilk consumers for worthless subscriptions is not only highly suspect of the perpetrator, but also gives pause to ever doing business with such an organization. I returned the 2nd issue unopened back to the Goins Group and would like to warn others of their business practices. My complaint to my credit card company was rejected, and I was stuck paying for a "newsletter" designed to advertise an upcoming event that I had no interest in attending. BEWARE!
