After waiting 2 weeks for home delivery of a vanity purchased online from The Home Depot, we were notified it would be delivered on 6/11/2013 by NSD (Non Stop Delivery).  NSD told us that we would not need to be home for the delivery, that they would unload it in the first dry location at our home.  Regardless of this, we made sure to be there for the arrival.

I won't go into detail about the unproffesional or sketchy looking appearance of the delivery person, but will say that he did show up ALONE, in a van, with a huge box containing our vanity weighing in at almost 400 lbs. He did not have any equipment, lift gate, or other help.  He proceeded to drop the boxed vanity, cracking the granite top & breaking two of its legs. He then tried to talk us into keeping all or part of the vanity, as if it could be fixed.  Needless to say, the vanity returned with him to the shipper.

I then proceeded to call homedepot.com to explain what happened & find out how soon we could get a replacement.  The girl I spoke told me I must pay now upfront for a new vanity to be sent (in 7-10 days), and must wait 2+ weeks for a refund of the damaged one (including shipment time back to the warehouse, and additional processing time for the refund).  So not only am I still vanity-less (2.5 weeks after first ordering) & will continue to be for another 7-10 days, but I also have to come up with $700 to buy a 2nd vanity! I bought the first vanity using a gift card & Home Depot Credit Card with special 0% financing for 6 months. Why would I want to buy one outright that I had originally bought to pay off in increments over a period of months??  She also did not offer an apology of any sort.

Long story short: Terrible Home Depot Customer Service + Terrible "Non Stop Delivery" Experience = Total Loss of my business!! I also have relayed my experience to everyone in my workplace, which happens to be a construction company that buys thousands from Home Depot every month. They have agreed that it is in their best interest to use Lowe's and local building/hardware/home supply stores instead of Home Depot.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Home depot .com but,Home Depot.com is not the same as Home depot store. The products come from different warehouses and are delivered by different delivery company's. The store would have retuned the vanity with no question and ordered an new one for no charge. they would have also gave you 10% off for you incontinence. so please don't give up on Home depot.
