As in financial hard times, and poor values with homes.....this group was advertising re-modifications for mortgage loans.

So I called, he said to bring in all your paperwork, for a no obligation consultation, but mentioned they required to move forward they require a fee up-front...non-refundable $1000, and additional $2000 if I agree to a modify.

Well here we go, they talked about all they work they will do for you, and the benefits, to hire an attorney!! So It sounded good......I have a 1st and second mortgage on the home......so here is 8 months later, and the effort on there part is far short than what they promise!! They faxed over my paper work to the 1st mortgage, did nothing on the second, because....for every week was getting calls from them, and the attorneys never called me to keep me posted, i had to call them all the time, to check on the progress!! They never had a good answer, except it takes time.......

So my take on this, they took a $1000 dollars from me....so far all they did was fax some docs over, which you can do yourself, and they made a few calls, which I was doing myself, and on the second...THEY DID NOTHING FOR ME, NO EFFORT!! which I thought that's why I hired them in the 1st place!!

Now that I'm in a 3 month trial period, the one attorney said they will be attempting to collect on the contract that i signed which is totally in their favor for the additional $2000. So now forcing to pay a total of $3000 for a couple of phone calls they made and faxed paperwork, and nothing on my second mortagage!! What is this, nothing but a joke, or scam of money from someone!! Very little effort from them, fell short of what they promise!!

Lisa Madigan ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, even said herself, do not give money upfront a few months back, which was too late for me, since I signed 8 months ago and said this was a scam...for re-modification loans places to require money upfront.

So learn from me....do not sign anything that's in favor of them, AND MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN WRITING, THAT YOU CAN CANCELL THE CONTRACT AT ANYTIME, WITH NO FURTHER OBLIGATION OR MONIES OWED!! This is your way out if your not happy with the service they promise, or lack of effort of!! Protect yourself......I could of done what they did some calls and faxe paperwork over to the 1st mortgage and do nothing with the 2nd and saved myself $3000 grand!!

I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office!!

DO NOT CONFUSE WITH MICHAEL J. FLECK

#2General Comment

Fri, June 01, 2012

This is attorney Michael J. Fleck.  I practice in Huntley, Illinois and have some cross-over in the areas of practice of this other attorney.  I am not the same attorney.  I am not related to this attorney, and I have never been affiliated with this attorney.

I mention this because for the last 3 years, my office has received phone calls and complaints as if I were the attorney involved in the matter that they are complaining about.  The most recent call was today, June 1, 2012.

For any person who may come across this complaint (to which I have no comment whatsoever), I want it to be clear that Michael J. Fleck, the Law Office of Michael J. Fleck, P.C. and Fleck & Meyers, P.A., all out of Huntley, Illinois, is NOT the person others may be complaining of.  See the attached link:

I would appreciate anyone involved with this matter to let others know there is a difference.  Thank you.

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, August 03, 2009

We at the Law Offices of Michael E. Fleck would like to discuss all of the points that Matt has put forth. First, Matt says he had a no obligation consultation, from which he decided to hire our law firm to obtain a modification for him. He states that the up front fee was discussed, and that a success fee would be charged if he agreed to a loan modification. All of which is true. Matt claims it is 8 months later and the effort of our firm has fallen short. Yet he also states that he is in a trial loan modification right now, based on our efforts. Matt was in a trial modification after we worked on his file for 4 months. That was the time it took his lender to underwrite and approve his modification. Loan modifications require many hours between underwriting, faxing documents, and hours of time on hold with the under staffed lender loss mitigation departments. Matt hired this firm to obtain a loan modification for him, and thus far we have delivered a trial modification which, come August when the trial period ends, should become a full modification once approved by his lender. After the modification of the first loan, the lender has stated that they will be willing to work towards modifying the second mortgage. Matt states that this is a joke, or a scam of money from someone. Matt came to this firm to obtain a loan modification, and that is what has been delivered. The contract states that the $2000 is due upon loan modification approval. When Matt last spoke to a representative of the firm, he asked about voiding the contract. Basically, after we have completed our obligations and Matt received a modification through our efforts, and now he has decided we haven't put in enough effort and wants to cancel the contract so as not to pay the additional fee. This is the reason why he was contacted concerning the fee, because of his desire to void the contract. We still hope to represent Matt and finish the modification of his first mortgage and then proceed with obtaining a modification on his second mortgage as well. We have held true to our obligations under the contract as we have for many clients. Unfortunately, this client felt the need to make defamatory clients against our office in an effort to avoid paying his contracted fees.
