Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Over the years, since about 2007, I have periodically been contacted by an agency claiming to represent the Ohio Attorney General, attempting to collect estimated sales taxes for a short time that I explored selling on eBay, and never actually sold anything. This was back in 2004. My most recent letter was today, even after I have made several attempte to clear the matter up.

The beginning, middle and end of the story is I looked into strting an eBay business online, and applied for a tax ID number. The business did not get off the ground, and shortly afterward the relationship I was in broke up, I had to suddenly move, and I took a job and forgot all about the business. I didn't realize I had to cancel the business license. The state calculated estimated sales taxes. An agency contacted me about this matter in 2007, I submitted the required paperwork (including cancelling the business license) and never heard another word-----until March 2015, when I was first contacted by The Revenue Group by mail, claiming I owed back sales taxes of $15,000. Mind you, I sold zero in 2004. I sent registered letters to the Ohio Attorney General's Office as well as The Revenue Group, explaining the situation and that I had thought it was cleared up as of 2007. I again heard nothing until December 30, 2015 when a representative named Miriam contacted me. She seemed delightful to work with, and she was going to clear this matter up for me. I again submitted tax forms for the years inquestions (all zeros), cancelled the business license, again, and had heard nothing since (interestingly enough, no word from the actual state taxing authority accepting or rejecting the forms, telling me I owe none, I owe some, I owe penalties, etc. Out of the blue today, I get a letter from Thomas Moos with Miriam's phone number on it, again demanding I pay $15, 606 in back sales taxes from a business I never ran.  My bad in not taking care of the paperwork in 2004, but they are still trying to charge me estimated tax through 2009.

I know the Ohio Attorney General is trying to collect from anytone he thinks eve remotely might owe back sales taxes, but this is ridiculous. It's on my credit and I don't know that I can get it off of there. Has anytone had anything similar happen?
