My saga with the Room Store began on September 23, 2007 when my husband and I made the mistake of purchasing a bedroom set from them. We bought a package deal which consisted of 1 nightstand, a headboard with slats, a foot board, a dresser and mirror. We also bought a matching chest of drawers, a second night table and a mattress. We were told there was a possibility that the headboard for our bed would have not arrive in time to be shipped with the rest of the set, but everything else would be delivered on October 3, 2007.

On September 30, my husband took a call from the store, during which they said that the headboard would be delivered with the rest of the items in the set.

I believe October 1, 2007, we received an automated phone call saying that the furniture would be delivered between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The delivery truck called at approximately 3:00 p.m. to inform me that, in fact, the headboard was not included with the delivery. I was not pleased, but told them to deliver the remainder of the furniture. I called the store and spoke with someone by the name of Brittany. I asked why we were told that the headboard would be included in the delivery, when in fact it was not. She didn't know and said that the store doesn't know what is going to be delivered.

I asked why then would the store call us to say that the head board was in the warehouse and would be delivered with everything else? Little did I know that this was only the beginning of my nightmare.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. the delivery people arrived. That was when they told me that a: the mattress was bent, the dresser was damaged as was one of the night tables.I refused delivery on those items and called yet another customer service number to inform them of this.

A Few minutes later, someone from the warehouse called to say that the mattress could be replaced and delivered within two days. I asked what about the other things. He said that would have to be scheduled later. I told him that I want the remainder of items in 1 shipment and, of course, without damage. He said okay.

The second delivery occurred this morning, and once again, I was told by the delivery people that there was no headboard. Without the headboard, the bed cannot be assembled. So after two deliveries, we still do not have a bed! The latest story is that the headboard is on back order from the factory and will probably arrive for delivery on October 16.

I am upset because the store made a point of telling us that the headboard would be delivered with the rest of the furniture on delivery number 1. It should not take 3 deliveries for one set of furniture. It was promoted as a package and should be delivered as such.

Moreover, the store should not make a point of telling people that they will receive a complete delivery, if that is not the case.

I would not have minded waiting until the headboard came in to receive the entire bedroom set. But I resent that the store basically misled me and seems to have no respect for my time. It shouldn't take 3 deliveries, over 3 weeks to get 1 bedroom set.

I would strongly recommend against buying from the Room store unless your idea of a life is spending 3 weeks waiting around to see _if_ they will actually deliver the things you purchased from them.
