The College Prep Center ripoff telephone solicitation of a minor La Mesa California
We too have been ripped off by this company. Over the summer of 2006 they solicited my teenage daughter and talked her into purchasing this product for $199.99. They told her there was a money back guarantee. When I found out about it, I attempted to call their number, and got an answering machine. I left a message telling them not to send the package and explained that my daughter was not authorized to place this order. I attempted several times to call them, always the same machine. They sent the order anyway, for which I refused delivery. I immedeately called my credit card.In January, my credit card reinstated the charges saying that The College Prep Center says they did not receive it back. I again call them leaving a different name and phone number. They called me back within the hour, but when I told them what I was calling about, they hung up on me. Now I am being forced to pay for something I did not order or authorize, and was never in my home as it was immediatly refused. The number they called me from was 619-668-2234.
