I needed a formal evening dress for a cruise. I am a plus size gal who in every store on this earth runs a 2-3X. I picked out a dress on this site, and proceeded to order. The dress was not a special tailor made dress, it was "in stock" and I ordered it in the 3X as it was somewhat fitted looking.

I received it in 2 days as requested, but when I pulled it out, it was so small. I thought they must have sent me the wrong size, but the tag stated 3X. Needless to say it was not even close.

I called the CSR and was told the policy was no returns on "specialty dresses". But it wasn't one, I explained. Well you can send it back for store credit, minus a restocking fee of $30.00. So, sorry, but we can't help you. Our policy is absolutely NO refunds.

So I went back to the site to look for a dress to exchange, but according to them I am a 7X, and they were out of stock on all of those sizes and would not be able to tell me when they would have any. Their policy is stated only if you link to it. All the other dress sites had their policy (if it was this extreme) right on the order form. This company did not. I gave the dress to a girlfriend, she is a size 12. It fits her. Its a great dress too. So I guess not all is lost. But if it weren't for her I'd be out all my money.I think if the sizes are that far off reality, they should have some sort of warning or at least put their policy in a place you can see it.

TheRoseDress dresses run smaller than off the rack dresses. We have specified this even at each detail page of every dresses you see at our site. We advice customers to view the size chart of a particular dress to see the measurements for each corresponding sizes. If customer runs normally size 3X, this may not be the case if you will buy your dress with TheRoseDress. So, it is best to check the size chart. Size chart is provided so customer will have idea of the measurement of a particular size being offered by its respective designer.

Moreover, TheRoseDress do accept a one time return and exchange of dresses. But if the dress comes from clearance and sale items they can be exchanged to other items on clearance or sale,too. For return and exchange, customers may need to shoulder the expenses including shipping cost for returning the dress back to us, the restocking fee, and the shipping cost for getting the replacement. Store credit are provided for those returned item for customers who will not ask for replacement yet. Store credit is valid for one year and once expired it can no longer be used. Restocking fee are for dresses that are ordered which aren't from our in-store supply. These are the dresses you see at our catalog database. This means that the dresses are ordered to its designer which may come back available or not. But orderer are informed about the status of the item ordered via email especially for unvailable or sold out item. Doing this, customer will have opportunity to cancel the entire order or replace the unavailable item with a different one. Restocking fee are asked to customer who return their dresses which are ordered from the designer because the dress may come as loss or deficit to the company as this cannot be returned back to the desgner.  We also ask for restocking fee to prevent customers from making unduly returns. If customer is unsure of the availability of an item, they may check by inquiring our customer service thru live chat, email or by calling our customer care hotline. Either means not available to respond to you right away, you may use the other option. But please keep in mind, we are not refusing to give assistance, we are simply trying to accomodate all our customers especially those who seek our assistance first.

Customers doing an online shopping are advised to read  the store policy first and inquire thru customer service for anything that you may find unclear.
