I agree with Bill. You were presented with an offer that they later failed to honor so you did what anyone sensible would do--move on to greener pastures. Far too many folks will cave and purchase. I would add a couple of suggestions/comments. technically, you didn't get "ripped-off" because you smartly did not buy. You should always have your financing pre-arranged with a credit union, bank, capitalone.com or other institution to know that you have the lowest rate. If the dealer can beat your lowest rate, great! Make sure you check edmunds.com to see if any incentives are being offered (like low finance rates/rebates). You will save a bundle. I just got 1.8%/3 years on my new car. Be prepared to drive out of town if local dealers won't work with you. Don't expect invoice or near invoice on hot cars, which, unfortunely, includes some of the fuel efficient econo-cars. With $4/gallon gas looming on the horizon it seems that many are downsizing from their land barges.

Way to go, JC !! That was exactly the thing to do ! Just get up and walk out. Find another dealer who doesn't play games.
