IM LOOKING TO JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT.

 

GOOD FRIENDS OF OUR PURCHASED THIS MEMBERSHIP IN LIKE 87 AND PAID SOMEWHERE AROUND $13,000.00. t\THAT WAS A LOT OF MONEY BACK THEN. WHEN THEY PASSED AWAY IN 2005 WE HAD THE CHOICE OF TAKING OVER THE "LIFETIME" MEMBERSHIP. WE DID FOR $750.00 TRANSFER FEE. WE USED IT ONE TIME AND REALISED WE WERNT GOING TO USE IT(HUSBANDS HEALTH GOT REALLY BAD) SO STARTED LISTING FOR SALE. WELL THEY HAD DECLINED IN PRICE SO MUCH WE WERE DOWN TO $2995.00.

I TRIED TO GET THE INFORMATION OF EXACTLY WHAT IT CONTAINED LIKE WHICH PARKS, PRICE, STAY, ETC. ONLY TO HAVE NOTHING SENT TO ME. i REQUESTED IT SO MANY TIMES. CALLING THEN EMAILING. THEY KEPT SAYING THEY WOULD SEND SOMETHING BUT NEVER DID. WE WERE SHORT ON MONEY ONE YEAR AND I CALLED. THEY LADY SAID THERE ARE SOME MEMEBERSHIPS THAT ARE PUT ON HOLD FOR YEARLY DUES ( WHICH HAD ALMOST DOUBLE IN PRICE) BUT OF COURSE EVEN THOUGH THIS MEMBERSHIP WAS AN VERY HIGH DOLLAR AMOUNT THE HOLD DIDN'T INCLUDE OURS.

CALLED STILL WAITING FOR INFORMATION. IN THE MEAN TIME I LOST TWO SALES BECAUSE I COULDN'T EVEN EXPLAIN WHAT THIS MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED. ALL I WANTED WAS PAPERWORK SO I COULD TELL THE BUYERS WHAT IT WAS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. THE PEOPLE WHO ANSWER THE PHONE ARE VERY RUDE AND ACT LIKE OH WELL. I AM SO FRUSTRATED.

NOW THEY HAVE SENT IT TO COLLECTIONS( $1158.00)  AND THE LADY THERE WAS VERY COLD AND RUDE. I ASK IF SHE HAD READ RIPPOFF AND SHE SAID NO THEY DON'T GO ON THOSE SITES. THE PEOPLE WHO GO ON TEHERE ARE THE ONES WHO DON'T PAY THERE FEES.  WELL THATS TRUE ABOUT ME I WON'T PAY THEM A DIME MORE WHEN I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I OWN IF ANYTHING).

 WE VISIT FAMILY IN CALIF AND THERE IS A THOUSAND TRAILS AND IT IS SO RUN DOWN I WOULDN'T WANT TO STAY THERE.

AND YES WE WERE TOLD IT WAS A MEMBERSHIP ONLY BUT DON'T HAVE PAPERWORK SO CAN'T CONFIRM IT.  

i NOW HAVE ANOTHER GUY WHO WANTS TO BUY IT (FOR THE AMOUNT WE OWE PLUS TRANSFER FEE) BUT I HAVE 2 PROBLEMS

1. I DON;T KNOW WHAT IT IS OR INVOLVES

2. I DON'T WANT TO PUT SOMEONE ELSE THROUGH WHAT WE HAVE GONE THROUGH OR WHAT THOUSAND TRAILS/NACO/LEASURETIME IS DOING.

You do realize I'm not Thousand Trails, right? But you do sound like all the other clueless people who get into having a membership with this company and have no clue. 

First you say you've been paying on your dues, then you say you didn't pay them because you were cutting back. So which one is it? 

Also, sounds like you're using them not sending paperwork as an excuse for some reason. Everything you wrote makes no sense! 

During any of this, did you even speak to their customer service? 

And no, collections doesn't have to have manners. It's their job to collect money you owe. When your account gets to them, you pretty much owe a lot and have demonstrated you don't want to work with anyone.

Get the facts straight. I never said I was trying to get the $13,000.00 that was paid for it back. I tried to sell for $2,995.00 no takers but 2 offers which I was going to take either but they backed out, I couldn't tell them what they were buying or where they could go to camp---what it included---or anything else.  I have been almost 2 years trying to get paperwork from you, and NO we did not recieve anything when we paid $750.00 transfer fee.You were to send paperwork out After we paid the fee.  I have requested it so many times. I have another guy whos interested but I will not put him or anyone else through what you have put us through.

After reading all of the Rip Off reports I don't expect you will be sending anything. And why not? Has my membership changed so much that I would be shocked. My husband is 70 and we haven't usded this and don't expect to now. There is no reason for any employee to be rude to people. If they work for a collection agency they still need to have manners. Fact is no one wants something they don't know what they are buying. The lady at the collection agency said she would send paperwork over a month ago and still nothing. They didn't have trouble sending me a bill. Or fee increase, Or late notice or collection notice. Letter 2008 Potential changes to your Membership Entittlements and Benefits.  Letter 2011 Potential changes to your Membership Entittlements and Benefits .Both said New options for members who do not currently use thier membership. Of course this didn't include us.

I quit paying fees because we were short of money. I was told the fees are waived if you have a certain membership, but guess what we didn't have that membership. Well $13,000.00 was alot to pay in like 1987. Our good friend who we inherited it from paid alot of money for it. Fact is we should have recieved paperwork when we paid transfer fee. Or at least when I started asking for it. We have had it since 2005 or 2006. And yes we were told over the phone we were getting a lifetime membership. The fees went to almost $750.00.

I listed the so called lifetime membership for $2995.00 and had it sold two times. The offers that were not that amount. I never said I was trying to get $13,000.00 out of the membership. I knew thy were almost worthless.  The last guy I don't think wants to hang around until I get some kind of paperwork because I don't think I ever will.  BUT I couldn't tell them what they were buying because you kept telling me you woyld send the paperwork and you LIED because after asking 5-6 times you still havent sent it. The lady at collections she said she would send it after I told her you wouldn't send it.  I have not recieved anything from you or her.

Why are you so affraid to send the paperwork.. Could it be because you have changed the wordage in the contract? I know there was a change I got notice in the mail like a week before the meeting and we couldn't attend. It was out of town.

I have personally seen a couple of thousand trails parks and they are not being kept up for the approx.  $750.00  that we as members of Thousand Trails/ Nato/Leisure time are paying.  How many members are there?  Multiply it.....

When you took over the membership, didn't you get any paperwork? If you say you didn't, you are lying because you had to sign something to take over the membership.

And it's not lifetime anymore. It clearly said it on the transfer papers you signed.

Did you even call the transfer dept to ask about your membership or did you just expect them to send you something?

Yes, it did go to collections if you didn't pay the dues because you are legally contracted to pay those dues.

Yes, the collection agent is cold and rude. Her job is to collect money that you defaulted on because you signed a legal contract that you would pay them.

The value doesn't stay with almost anything you try to resale. Did you honestly think you would get the original $13,000 your friend paid over 20 years ago? The membershps aren't meant to get a financial gain. They are meant for enjoyment.

If you knew you weren't going to use it more than one time, why did you take over the membership in the first place?

Honestly, do some research before signing things.

Good luck with that lawsuit.
