Here is why I will never rent from Thrifty again why you shouldn't either (regardless of best price):

I just rented a small black Ford Focus for the weekend.  I actually got my reservation through Dollar believe it or not, but the bus driver dropped us off here and said they're the same company and can pull our reservation....strange right, but whatever.  There was a long wait, but the lady was nice and quickly rolled me through and I was off.

The car?  It almost stalled out every time I stopped.  You know that sound when you're driving a stick and don't give it enough gas?  That one and I honestly can't believe it didn't stall once, this car despite having 40k miles sounded like a coal miner with black lung.

But that's not why I'm writing this review.

I'm an honest person and always fill my gas tank all the way up right outside the rental office.  Sure it blows, but I do it.  Per the usual I did the same here and was happy I got back to the thrifty office with time to spare on my 7am return.

That's when I looked at the receipt and it was $10 more than it was supposed to be.  WTF?  So I asked the guy, uh- what's up with that?  'You need yo receipt man' says the return guy.  I rent many a car every year and I've never heard of this, 'show a receipt or pay $10' despite my tank being completely full.   My cashier conveniently never mentioned it to me either.  I would have remembered it...because it's insane.

So I talk to the 'manager':

I explain to him all the above and realize, hey!  I can just log onto my chase account and show my receipt there!  Surely the photo of my full tank, a charge from the arco

gas station, and here that address matches up with the arco on google- everything lines up!  Awesome.  He doesn't budge because 'he has no authority to make changes' ...despite being the manager.

So, the lesson here is:

Stupid policies can turn you from a more or less satisfied customer into someone that loathes your company.  It's so easy to burn bridges and this BS which they're more than happy to hide in the fine print just lost any possible business with my family/company indefinitely.  I hope you do the same, I'm sure I narrowly avoided something else that you're going to get nailed for later.

Its unfortunate that you are having issues, but there are a few things you need to understand about how warrenties work. There is NO 100% coverage warrenty, there are ALWAYS exclusions. Now if you tried to use the manufacturer warrenty, then you would have to ship the mattress off at your own cost to them so they could verify that it was indeed a "Manufacturers defect". The manufacturers warrenty ONLY covers QUALITY of construction and is only good for about a year.

Now if you have an extended warrenty, then you have to qualify for using that warrenty. Which means that like any CONTRACT there will be exclusions ect. So when you tried to redeem the warrenty they tell you sorry but you voided your warrenty because you did not use the metal support bar that comes with the bed. THERE is the issue. YOU have made the assumption that your warrenty covers your issues, but when they tell you  "No you voided it" you then hop online and complain that THEY cannot honor the warrenty because YOU voided it.

Last but not least, why would you expect them to honor a warrenty if you have voided it?? Sleepys DID NOT sleep on that mattress, YOU did. Sleepys is NOT responsable for how the bed was used, that was on YOU. Sleepys DID NOT void the warrenty, YOU did. So how in ANY stretch of the imagination is this in ANY WAY their fault??

Its consumers such as yourself that INVALIDATE the process that RoR has been trying to set up for awhile. YOU think that going online that you will get some traction on your issue BECAUSE you have spread your particular pack of lies online. You are well too late for that tactic to work. About 5 years too late. The people who use the web have gotten a bit smarter and NOW understand that not everything that is on the web is THE TRUTH. Its mostly lies, lies designed solely to make a poster  to look like a better victim. THAT is what has happend here. You have been told no that you voided your warrenty, so you THINK you can hop online and get better results.

Now here is the REALLY bad news, for YOU anyways. What YOU have done is spread YOUR OPINION AS FACT ON THE WEB!! The web by legal definition is a MEDIA OUTLET. When you hop online now, you are held to the exact same laws that printed publications MUST follow. This means that since you have used slander and defamation of character, Sleepys NOW has a civil case against you for what you have posted.

So move on and accept that you voided your warrenty. Get past it and move on and HOPE that Sleepys doesnt find this post, because you have given them ammo to come after you. Since your warrenty is a contract, and you violated the terms and conditions of that contract there is no help for you. You as the second party of that contract are supposed to KNOW what the terms and conditions are. Im betting you didnt even read it when they asked you to sign it. So by NOT reading it would explain WHY you dont know how you voided the warrenty.

No ripoff here to this poster. Its the other way around. This poster is trying to use the web in order to use "social Blackmail" to get their way. This poster is attempting to scam a fix for their problem but fails to realize that THEY are the source of the problem.
