Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I run a pet care business and I have noticed some very unusual thing with Thumbtack leads, and I think the leads must be fake. For example, in my 27 years experience running my petcare business, it has been my observation that cat owners never ask for two visits a day. Cats are usually fine with one visit per day. But every single Thumbtack lead I've EVER gotten for cat sitting had requested two visits per day. That just doesn't match up with my 27 years of experience in the pet sitting business. In the real world, cat owners don't ever ask for two visits per day. But in Thumbtack's world of fake leads, cats owners always request two visits per day. When I get a REAL request through my website,

I ALWAYS get hired. But, after using Thumbtack for the past year, out of the 70 leads I responded to, I have only been contacted by ONE of those leads, and I was hired by that contact. Here's the REALLY fishy part: When I first signed on with Thumbtack, I purchased a large block of credits, and since that initial purchase, I have been receiving between 3-10 Thumbtack leads each week. BUT, after I used up all my credits about 10 days ago, I re-purchased a small number of credits in order to give Thumbtack another try. Now here's the fishy part: In the 10 days since I bought my new credits, I have recieved NO new leads. I went from up to TEN leads a week, to ZERO leads. I believe Thumbtack has been sending fake leads all along, waiting for me to use up all of last years lower priced credits. Once I ran out of my credits, they sold me a new batch of much higher priced credits. Once they got my money, the leads dried up from 10 per week to ZERO. Take my advice and DON'T fall for this scam. 99% of their leads are fake, guaranteed!

Thumbtack - Agree - Fake Leads

I have used Thumbtack and actually had some luck with it.  However, I have never felt totally comfotable that all the leads were real.  Over the last fews days something very strange has happened and made me very angry and believe that upto 80% of the leads sent for us to spend our $ on are fake.

Over the last few days you can see all of the sudden all names are in capital letters except for about every 30th lead which is typed normal.  I have also noticed many of the leads in differant areas come up with different names but reguesting the exact same things minutes later.

I have read that in the new user agreement we can't start a class action lawsuit but if they are fraudulently creating leads then I can't see how anything they have in thier user agreement can protect them from FRAUD...

I would very much like to get a group of users together who feel the same I do as a small business owner I am sure I have spent a few hundred dollars that I don't have on false and fake leads!!

Sincerely,

Pissed Consumer!
