Here is more truth for you

Since you are so interested in the truth and nothing but the truth, here is more for you...unfortunatly you are not going to like it.

First on the extra $4500, not sure how when you are signing something that you don't notice the amount being $4,500 more.  But unfortunatly if you signed the contract without reading what you were actually signing then even if they did rip you off..you let them do it.

Now onto the car.  When you purchased your car, unless you have a written warranty you purchased it AS-IS that means that from that moment on ANYTHING that goes wrong with the car is your responsibility.  There was nothing in your loan agreement that said that you only had to make your car payments when you could.

So yes if you fail to make your car payments they are 100% within their legal rights to reposess the car.  So it isn't a case of you not allowing it to happen...it will happen.  They are under no obligation to make any arrangements or payment plans with you.   Now, if you are thinking you can hide the car so they can't find it.  Realize that the more work you make them do to get the car, the more you actually owe.  Because YOU are also responsible for any fees and costs they had to incur to reposess your car.  This is one reason the person probably told you to do a volunatary repo, because it cuts down on these costs.

If you think when they repo the car you are done..WRONG.  They will sell the car at auction and you are still responsible for the difference.  If you fail to pay this difference they can file a suit against you.  Where if they get a judgement against you, they may (depending on your state) be able to garnish your wages or just take the money directly out of your bank account.

Before you go off on how bad they are..this is the same thing that ANY financial lender has the right to do when a person does not meet their financial obligations.
