After having contacted TLG Great Fun to inquire about the charges, I find out that the debt of $119.19 was caused by a check sent to me by my Credit Card Company in the amount of $9.00 and change. I thought this check represented a REBATE from my Credit Card Company for the amount of charges that I was doing. As I recall, It was a kind of a thank you type thing.

I read the back of the check as I usally do and as I recall I found no subscription of any kind that would take affect after I cashed the check. So that's what I did.

Two months later I'm alerted by my Credit Card Company that my credit limit is nearly reached. Sure enough when i accessed my account there was this charge of $119.99 from TLG Great Fun. WHAT IS THIS, I THOUGHT?

I was alerted about this debt on June 20,2008, but the charge was posted on June 16, 2008. When I called my Credit Card Company to dispute, they gave me an 800 number to contact TLG Great Fun, but I had to wait until Monday, June 23, 2008 to make the call.

I made contact with TLG Great Fun and had my tape recorder ready to record the entire conversation because I'm hard of hearing. I started out with; "I have'nt recieved my merchandise. I ordered it a week ago and it was supposed to be delivered "NEXT DAY DELIVERY".

Their response; well what merchandise did you order?

I said; I ordered Men's and Women's unmentionables!

Their response; Please verify your name and address and we will check the status.

After getting down to the nitty gritty, I lied just to get them to tell me who and what they were about.

As it turns out...they are a Discount Coupon Membership Company that supplies you the various discounts that are available in stores of their choosing. And they said; when I signed and cashed the check it activated my membership after a 30 day no fault clause. I had cashed the check Apr. 22, 2008 and of course the 30 days were expired so they charged me the Annual Membership Fee of $119.19. Well, at least I found how this figure came to be and WHY!

The eye opener to me was the check was sent to me from my Credit Card Company. It was sent without warning of what the consequences would be if I chashed the check. So as far as I'm concerned my Credit Card Company is really responsible for the entire episode.

So, I called my Credit Card Company back and stated all of these facts. They said; I you want to fill out a "Dispute Form", we will process it and get you a credit for the amount specified, $119.19. After I fax the report to them it would take about 7 to 10 days to resolve.

I WAS IN FULL AGGREEMENT

My WARNING to other would be: Do not cash any kind of checks unless copy the back of the check for any future reference. This scam has been activated many many times in the 5 years at least and will continue unless we are made aware of how we can protect ourselves.

YOU MUST TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION AS SOON AS IT HAPPENS TO YOU!

After having called my Credit Card Company on Monday June 23, 2008, I followed the procedure they requested. I filled out a Dispute Form and faxed it to them right away. They said that it would take 7 to 10 days to research and decide. So, the next day (Tuesday), I went on line to pay the monthly adue. But the first thing I noticed was that my available credit had increased. I wondered what happened! So I went to (transactions) and found that my Credit Card Company had (CREDITED) my account for the amount of $119.99. WOW! Well, not only was I happy but I was surprised that it was resolved so FAST! Thank God for that! My last bit of advise...if you feel that you've been wrongly charged, get into action right away with both parties. Because at first, I thought someone stole my credit card (number) and charged $119.99. So I reported to my credit card company that my credit card (number) was stolen and please close that account. Then, I found out (through the merchant) that the charge came from a check that I cashed. At that point, I thought if I did do that, then I wasn't ripped off. It was my FAULT! Then, I put all the pieces together and remembered the check in question. Of course I had to trace my actions back 2 months. And when I did, I remembered the circumstance. And that's when I knew my problem was really with my CREDIT CARD COMPANY. So I stated my position...and their wrong doing. MAYBE THAT'S WHY THEY CREDITED MY ACCOUNT PRONTO!

I wnated to write a report but have no address, just a phone number, that has been changed since it first appeared on my bank statement. TLG Great FN was on my bank statement with a phone number so I called. Their new number is listed as 804-418-8720 and the company name has also changed to ING Life Designs. I don't know how they got my number but I do know I never authorized it.
