Please Doug, Do not self alter your Warfarin medication levels. I worked for a heart valve manufacturer. I inspected our explanted heart valves. Heart valves are generally explanted for one reason. The past owner of the heart valve died. One of the top killers of heart valve recipients is their attempting to self regulate their blood thinner. People get used to it, they begin to take it for granted, they think they can get by with skipping it because the one day they forgot to take it did not hurt them, and people die because a mechanical heart valve damages the blood by its mechanical action. Damaged blood tries to clot to seal the assumed wound. Clotting blood in a wound or surface lesion is OK. Clotting blood inside your arteries is not. Please consult and follow all your physicians' instructions.
