Tom Smiley Commonwealth investment and development con man scam artist Henderson, Nevada
I was Googling this guy, Tom Smiley, and found a number of references to 'Thomas B. Smiley'! He is one of the same person!!!! He lives in Henderson, Nevada (I got his address from a February Ripoff Report by another person who was obviously one of Smiley's many victims).
He stiffed at least two law firms (one of which was mine), a title company, and is being sued by 2 investors over a real estate scam. My firm represented him for a while and was not paid by him and I lost a job partly as a result of this. Business is bad enough for lawyers; to have to represent people who do not pay their bills, and who are represented by lawyers who pretend to be billing time when they know the client may not pay his bill, is terrible. But there is no excuse for not paying his bill.
Look under the name: 'Thomas B. Smiley, Ripoff Reports' on Google and see the trail this thief has left. Why can't people see this guy coming from a mile away? How does he continue to get away with it?
