I still own a GO 910 but the maps are outdated. To keep them updated for the next 2 years would have cost me about $300 whereas I bought the XXL540 World Traveler for $209. The math is simple. What a disappointment to find out I was had. Guess I should have read the other reviews on this unit before because several people have complained about the unethical way in which this unit is sold by TomTom.
NOWHERE on the paperwork that came with the unit does it say that the map updates for Europe are NOT included, not on the voucher and not on the product's webpage. The only way you can find out is to click on the product page on the link that says "Lifetime Map Updates*" ([...]) Click on it and there is a picture of a car with a few lines of text under it. They don't show you all the text, because then you would know that you're getting scr.wed. Click the right arrow in the green area and you are still none the wiser. However, click it a third time and you will see the "Note: Only applies to maps of North America." It is not that there was not enough space on the page to show all the text at once, they know most people don't scour every line on the page so they hide it, not once but twice!!
Also, the maps available shows ALL of Europe and North America. NOT POSSIBLE! You have to remove North America if you want all of Europe. You have to remove half of Europe to put North America back! And North America is CANNOT be split. How many people, realistically, use the Mexican map?? Anyway, hours of work to remove and reload!
This has been mentioned before and is just as bad. YOU CANNOT GET A UNIT SERVICED. Once out of the very short warranty period, FORGET IT! My son dropped his cell on the screen and it cracked. The solution from TomTom??? BUY A NEW ONE!!!
The XXL 540 is my second TomTom as I was pleased with the first one. However you only get to scr.w me once and so this is the end of the line for TomTom. I will never buy anything from them again. If you think you're getting a good deal, or getting ANY TomTom THINK AGAIN and buy something else!

..are you smoking much? Why should Tom Tom be responsible because your son dropped his cell phone on it and cracked the screen? Is there any mention in the warranty that clumsiness or butter fingers is covered?
As far as the maps..lets go to a popular site to see what is included..how about Amazon..ever hear of them?
