Top Notch Carrier LLC / Marcel Pontbriand dishonest, did not pay wages, violating Federal Motor Carrier Regulations Pahrump Nevada
I was hired as a CDL truck driver for this company.
I told them when hired I had a disabilty because of a bad shoulder and could not tarp loads. My first trip from Henerson,NV to Morgantown,PA required tarping, I left Henderson,NV on a Monday morning and on Thursday afternoon I got a message from Valerie Marce the owner Marcel Pontbriands wife that I had a reload as soon as I got unloaded. She asked if I could be in Bethlehem.PA after I unloaded by 6PM , then 7PM I told her I did not think I could make it. I arrived at Morgantown and 4:15 Thursday afternoon, Again Valerie text me to call ASAP. I finally got unloaded by 6:10 PM and called Valerie she told me i needed to get to Behtlehem ASAP. I told he it would take about 2 hrs to drive there because it was over 60 miles and i had to take 2 lane congested road in Amish country.
I also told her I had less than one hour left to drive because i had almost reached the maximum limit of hours I was allowed to drive by law, She insisted I could make it from Morgantown, PA to Bethlehem in one hours, I told her I could not and I would not RUN ILLEGAL>
She got pissed.
I had to layover untill the following Monday after Easter to pick up the load in Bethlehem. It took over 4 hours to load and if I had done as Valerie Martel had told me to do I would have worked for over 20 hrs the past Thursday.
Whe I returned two of the women working in the office met me asked for the fuel credit card and paid me ,for the trip out to PA . The check was short and the next day I gave Valerie Martel and her husband Marcel Pontbriand a letter explaining the pay check incorrect and I was shorted about $300. A week later I was paid for the return trip from PA and againthe cehck was not correct and I was shorted over $200.
They igneored my request to be correctly paid for my work,,
I filed a formal complant was did an other truck driver did with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration about Valerie Marcel demanding that I violate motor carrier safety regualtion as well as a wage complaint with the state of Nevada.
Marcel Pontbriand and he wife are cult leaders from Quebec Canada.
Mr Pontbriand was convicted of practicing medicine with out a license and was also chaged with investent fraud by Canadian authorites.
Marcel Pontibriand and his wife Valerie Martel fled Canada as well as over 30 French Candian Cult Followers and moved to Arizona where Canadian Authorites removed over 10 children because they feared for the childrens safety.
After their problems in Arizona Pontbriand and his followers moved to remote Pahrump. NV..I suspect that Marcel Pontbriand, Valerie Martel ans well as their French Canadian Cult followers who work for Pontbriands businesses are not in the US legally.
Pontrbiand told me that he brought almost all of his workers from Canada because he could not find American workers were not as good as his Canadian workers,
TOP NOTCH CARRIER LLC has only 3 simi trucks on the road and has gone thru 12 drivers in less than a year.
He owes me more that $500 in upaid wages.

Numerous OTR drivers have expressed similar complaints about this company and the owners. Word spreads quickly in a small town. I have first hand knowledge on the shenanigans that occur with these people. From expecting drivers to run illegal, to punishing them and ignoring text msgs and phone calls for DAYS . Once it was discovered what types of people they are my sources felt it was best to cut ties immediately. It is public knowledge that these people are criminals with prior fraud convictions along with YouTube videos of the owner "marcel", explaining how he is a self proclaimed profit and cult guru. He was interviewed by a French Canadian reporter in his own backyard pleading his case. They have multiple French Canadian citizens that work countless hours in exchange for room and board, housing, furniture etc. They appear to be very nice people at first, and then become abusive and child like throwing tantrums when a driver refuses to drive illegal. They even have had drivers operating a vehicle that couldn't even pass a drug test. It's not difficult to provide proof of said allegations. Text messages, voicemails, and even Google searchs are available. These are not sweet people. These are not good people. They are predators who take advantage of situations to the fullest degree. I'm forever greatful for making others privy to these peoples track records . Any decent, hardworking, person with standards and integrity would want no affiliation with this company and or people. The CDL OTR community is a tight nit one, and as the word has continued to spread about these peoples practices, they will never hang on to any righteous and decent employee, only the bottom of the barrel, sub par, mediocre at best type of driver. Big difference between professional and non professional. Buyer beware .

I have worked for top-notch carriers for the last 2 years. I have never been asked to join this cult that you are claiming that Top Notch carriers is. They're are really sweet people that would give you the shirt off their back. Yes you work hard at this company but you do not do so illegally. And yes they are in the United States legally because they have a business in their personal names in that is not possible if you are here illegally. Also they travel to and from Canada often now if there was a problem with the Canadian government don't you think they would have revoke their visas or their passports. I figure this person writing this report has no ambition to earn money he doesn't want to work hard. I have never had a problem with my checks if I did I'm sure they would figure it out and pay me what I was do. As for the people working for him they are some of the hardest workers I have ever come across and they are a great bunch of people.
