Toto Toto Neorest parts scam Internet, Internet
I have a Toto Neorest 600 toilet/bidet. It's their deluxe model. It contains a fan and an activated charcoal filter to reduce odors.
The filter needs to be replaced from time to time.
I discovered that Toto refuses to sell these filters , not only to end users, but also to it's distributors, wholesale outlets or lic. plumbers!
Toto instead put me in touch with their closest authorized servicer (in another state!) who informed me there would be a MINIMUM service charge of $1,200 (twelve hundred dollars)! That was based upon just replacing the filter!
The filter is made out of cardboard with a charcoal honeycomb inside. Removing & replacing the filter is something anyone with a modicum of mechanical aptitude can easily do. I removed it to try to match one up and look for a part number. It took about 30 minutes to disassemble then reassemble the toilet top cover where the filter is located.
STAY AWAY from this product! It works fine, but the obscene cost to service it is just a ripoff by an uncaring company. They've got Will Smith endorsing this product. I wonder if he realizes what a ripoff parts are?
