I have worked with this rescue and it's director on MANY occasions and have found her to be an honest, hard working and caring individual. If the complainant did not have a good experience, perhaps he was NOT a good match for the dog. TPR, cares more about the dogs in her rescue than anything else.

Well you must know your name and that of your dog?   We are waiting..............

If you have surrendered a dog to us, you have filled out a surrender form online and then you also sign a surrender and release form in person, when you give us the dog. Do you have a copy of those LEGAL forms?

When you filled out that surrender form online you get an automatic email response and we follow up with emails. So we know what you are saying is dishonest because we would NEVER conduct a surrender like that. If you have surrendered a dog to Toy Poodle Rescue you have emails, another lie!

Seems like you have got caught, you want to smear our name and provide no proof of your story. Actually you have now taken a piece of copyrighted material off our website and reposted it for which you are not allowed to do. You are right everyone is allowed their opinion but you are not allowed to say something in print that is not true and there are penalties for that.

Oh by the way, websites have a way of recording your IP address, when you accessed our website, we retained that. GOT YA!! You have until August 12th 2012 to make this right and retract ALL your statements or we will be prosecuting you for restitution.

In hindsight I guess I should have recorded our phone conversations, I did not. It's basically a he said, she said. This is my story and my opinion, which I'm entitled to. I believe everyone is. The following is cut and pasted from their site: SpeedBilly: Thursday, 08 March 2012 18:57

OK, I recently went with one of our volunteers/foster homes to Boch to buy a car for her. It was one of the most horrible experiences of my life. The salesman was not honest with the information he gave us and we were disrespected by the staff, not because we did not have the money to buy a car but simply because we were two middle aged women and the salesperson thought we were wet behind the ears and we should not be negotiating. The whole experience was something I never want to do again.

I needed a shower as I felt slimey and was totally angry and upset when I got home!So ladies (and gentle gentlemen)  do I have a treat for you, there is a new company called SpeedBilly.  Your statement here is no different then my opinion of my experience. People can take it or leave it. I'm not the only one that posted here? I will not be bullied or intimidated by anyone. People should do their homework when dealing with any online organization, which I stated in my previous post, I wish I had on many occasions.

If this is a legitimate complaint and the poster feels so strongly, why are they not signing their posts with their real name giving validity to them?

What is the dogs name? If we still have the dog then why are they not trying to get the dog returned to them?

There must be email correspondents between PoodleLover and Toy Poodle Rescue, where are they? If this is true then they would be posting them for all to see and read, we encourage that!

We cannot defend ourselves and our reputation unless we know who this person is and the dogs name.

This website allows people to say anything they want and have to prove nothing. Allowed to hide behind different pseudonym's, not sign or give their real name while conducting a smear campaign.

We are right here ready and willing to answer any complaint, we are not putting our head in the sand or walking away from this. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech/expression and should take full advantage of that BUT it has to be truthful and proof provided.

We would ask that our supporters and public just demand proof now and nothing else, it is obvious this persons goal is to tarnish our name and reputation and expect the public to believe an anonymous being.

I know my personal integrity and honesty and encourage the truth be told. I have no fear of that.

Here is the definition of freedom of expression;

In the United States freedom of expression is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. There are several common law exceptions including obscenity,[78][79] defamation,[78][79] incitement,[79] incitement to riot or imminent lawless action,[78][79] fighting words,[78] fraud, and speech integral to criminal conduct. There are federal criminal law statutory prohibitions covering all the common law exceptions other than defamation, of which there are civil law statutory prohibitions, as well as making false statements in "matters within the jurisdiction" of the federal government,[80] speech related to information decreed to be related to national security such as military and classified information,[81] false advertising,[79] perjury,[79] privileged communications, trade secrets, copyright, and patents. Most statesand localities have many identical restrictions, as well as harassment, and time, place and manner restrictions.

Please note under the First Amendment, no-one can be prosecuted for defamation or making false statements if what they are stating is true. We are going to give this poster (has used different pseudonym's) 7 days from today, Sunday 5th August, to respond with proof of their posts and then we will be contacting our legal council for restitution.

One Persons Opinion

I wonder how many other people have been lied to by this organization and wish they had never come across their online site. Work with a site that allows you to visit them, one that's not run out of their home, one that has only one person running the whole show with no one to answer to.

I would not trust one person's opinion who was going to euthanize their dog because they were ill?

To me this is a person who really has no love for animals. All I can say is online organizations are not always what they seem, words are cheap and easily manipulated to suit their own agenda, be it for profit or the pat on the back. Doing good deeds should come from the heart with no need for recognition. The, look at me, look at all I do is pathetic in my opinion. I will never stop telling my story, because unlike Ms. Euthanize, I will never get over my loss.

To the person "poodle lover", when you surrendered your dog to Sue I am convinced Sue acted in the very best interest of your dog. I gather you were not able to care for your dog due to your medical condition. I was in a similar situation when Sue graciously came here to my home and spent hours observing our beloved dog and our situation. It is impossible for me to believe what you have written, as if Sue held your dog hostage. Although the dog is always Sue's primary concern, thank god, she also considers the people needing to surrender their dog. I fully believe if you were able to be honest with yourself, you would know your dog is in a better place now. It took many months for the right home to be found for our dog, and every day I think, oh if we still had her, and theni get real with myself and know that Sue found a better place for our dog and will or has for your dog. That is what Sue does. You are wrong and short-sighted if you are unwilling to see that truth. Be happy for your dog. Please, stop saying in-truths about Sue anf Toy Poodle Rescue in Dover MA. They are the best!

Due to illness I became unable to walk and spend quality time with my poodle. I asked Toy Poodle Rescue for help. They convinced me I was doing the best for my dog and that they would help me.
They also stated I could have my dog back. Within one day, I could not bear the loss and was extremely lonely without him. I immediately contacted Toy Poodle Rescue, who responded that they already had someone who wanted to adopt him and convinced me this was the best for him even though their site states the best place for your pet is to try and keep them in their home. That was over six month's ago, and he is still listed on her site. I even stated to her that I would have him trained to get use to my wheelchair. Her statement was he's my dog now! This is truly a cruel woman.
My dog was very well taken care of and needed nothing. He was neutered, UTD on all shots, professionaly groomed regularly and loved dearly, I think of him everyday and what I did to him, letting a stranger take advantage of myself as well as my sweet little dog. Sue, you should be ashamed of yourself. You had the opportunity to do the right thing, instead you took advantage of a disabled person. In my opinion I would never seek help from this organization. Anyone reading this, please pass on my story. I will forever be heartbroken.

Please don't believe anything written against the good works done by Sue and Toy Poodle Rescue. Look at the website ToyPoodleRescue.net. and read a-l-l the fantastic experiences individuals have shared there. read that, not this! Toy Poodle rescue saves lives of innocent dogs that for so many different reasons are so very fortunate to wind up with Sue. And she will advocate for her charges with all her knowledge and kindness and goodwill. Sue dedicates a huge part of her life to keep people like me, from euthanizing their beloved poodles, and commits to rehome them and honors her committment, She cannot place a dog for adoption unless it is to the right family, she knows who they are. She does home visits! She knows of what she speaks ans the truth is what that is. Trust her and the people who know her work..please, read about the whole Rescue at her web page - not here. Thank you.

One can not be too careful when adopting out dogs. Too many dog fighters out there that will use these as 'bait dogs" in other words they allow the fighting dogs to kill these dogs for training.

Anonymous complaint...how cowardly!

#12REBUTTAL Owner of company

When I started this rescue group, I had no idea of the abuse and dishonesty we would have to endure when dealing with potential adopters.

On a daily basis we have people who apply to adopt a dog that will lie on their application, purposely leave things off they do not want us to know or apply for a dog who's needs they cannot meet. So then we have to become detectives to see what is true or false, it is so sad to me that anyone who would apply to get a dog that has had to be rehomed already and is in a temporary foster home, would lie in order to get it?

If anyone has to lie on their application, you should not be getting a pet!

Then when we have to say no to an adopter for whatever reason, the constant emails and abuse is never ending. If we have to say no, sometimes it's because the dog is not a match, but people take that so personally like we have said they are bad people and that is just not the case.

The constant nasty emails and persuasion to change our decision is awful and to be honest once we see someone behave like that and show their true character we know we have made the right decision. It is more about what they want and can't get, than what is in the best interest of the dog.

We have to be the advocate for the dog and do what we feel is right for them.

It does though get horribly tiring and sometimes I just want to give up and never have to deal with the public again. You try to be honest and good and we are constantly attacked for doing what is right for our dogs and the people who surrendered them.
The attacks used to worry me to no end and then I realized that the only people we have to worry about are the homes we have adopted our dogs to, not the ones we don't. The people who have adopted from us choose to write their experience on our Happy Tails page and those are the people, who I would be crushed, if they thought I or any one in our rescue had done a bad job.
We list every dog we have ever placed and what the adopter says about them, this way the people who had to surrender their dog can read about them from their new owner, so they also have closure and security knowing their pet has a wonderful new home.

THAT is the right way to do rescue, it is never about the people and ALWAYS about the dog, no matter how long that takes for them to find each other.

It's very easy to post a negative comment when you remain anonymous, we have no way of defending ourselves against the comment, enabling us to provide email and paperwork interaction, if any, showing our due diligence. How cowardly and dishonest!

I believe people should be able to give feedback on their experiences with companies etc, but if it is done out of spite and they are allowed to remain anonymous you have to question the honesty and motivation behind the complaint. No better than a bullying tactic, hit and run away, hiding behind this site. How corrupt!
