Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I heard a radio spot on the local Christian Radio station (KLTY) offering to buy a car for 50% of the MSRP. I responded by both calling the dealer and driving there to check out their offerings.

As soon as we arrived at the dealer my wife commented "the vultures are circling" several sales people started over toward us. One, Daniel, engaged us and asked what brought us there. I let him know we were there because of the radio ad and asked let him know we were there to buy a car at 50% off of MSRP.

Daniel welcomed us and asked us to come into the showroom, where it was warmer, it was in the low 40's or high 30's that night in Dallas. Daniel went into the office and brough out some papers and wanted to collect a bunch of information about us, we just wanted to test drive a car and if we liked it we would write a check that night. After a few minutes we told him we REALLY wanted to go drive a few cars.

Daniel obliged and took us on a few test drives. About 1.5 hours after arriving at the dealer we settled on a new mini van. Daniel went back to the office came back with more papers and started to write up an offer, something we found strange since we were there to take advantage of the 50% off MSRP deal.

After he wrote up the offer price he told us that we can not purchase the car for 1/2 of MSRP it's a special 2 year lease they are offering.

I told him that they had wasted our time knowing that we were there to buy a car for 50% of MSRP and that we were ready to write a check that night. He went and got his salas manager and this guy confirmed that it was a lease to which I said that it's false advertising and that I will report them to the radio station and the State Atty. Gerneral.

THe moral here is never buy a car from Toyota of Dallas, they can not be trusted.

Dear Brad, I apologize for your confusion over our radio ad. We have been a supporter of KLTY and certainly appreciate their listeners. Our ad that you responded to was our "lease and pay only Half of MSRP". The ad is truley a great deal, at the time I believe we were also able to offer you full tax credits so that you could even save on your out of pocket expense. With every auto ad you must do a full disclosure and unfortunatley for radio advertising their is not enough time in a 30 second spot. We do mention to "see our ad in the Dallas Morning News". Also to avoid confusion we give our telephone number twice to encourage our customers to call first and get the details. We even go to great lengths to record all incoming sales calls, so that we can train on how to better handle our calls. As for my sales person, Daniel, he is one of my finest. I believe if you would not have came in with the pre-conceived image of what Daniel was(vulture circling) you would have seen that he is a very nice, christian, and straightforward young man. The reason Daniel asked for some information upfront was to find out what your needs were and to help find a vehicle that would fit within those needs. But again, after you did not call or look at our ad, you rushed him to just go see the vehicle. So being the nice guy that he is he showed you what you asked for. When he finally got a chance to explain the ad you did not even give him a chance. Again, I apologize for your confusion. If a one pay lease does not fit your budget or needs I certianly understand. If you would have given us an opprotunity to help you, I am confident we could have found a vehicle that would have worked for you at a price that was more than fair. Sincerely, General Manager
