Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was accused of shoplifting around the holiday time from a Toys R Us located in the Philly surburbs. I legally purchased several big items (meanging large boxed items) and electronics totaling $200 paid with a check and proceeded to leave the store.I was grabbed from behind by someone from the store who demanded that he search my person. Once I refused he summoned the local police who came and searched me out in public.

No items were found. The manager did not apologize nor would he let me back in the store to return the items.

the manager refused to let me back into the store even with the police still present and I was labeled a trespassor. I could not return the items and now I am stuck with the items.

I called cumtomer service sent a letter back in November and December 05. No one returned my calls nor sent a letter. I can't return the items unless I go out of state and who has time for that not only that the time allowed for the return policy has run out.

Toys R Us has my money and I have toys that I will not allow my children to play with, because I refuse to encourage play from a store that has accused me of shoplifting and not called to apologize.

Get a lawyer? What kind of response is that?

Suing for being embarrassed? Is that what is important here? I think she should pack up those toys and take them to another Toys R Us store and get the refund there. As it's now 6 months from the original date of purchase, they may not take them back. So donate them to a charity if she still has it. Boycott Toys R Us. Write a letter to their headquarters. Tell your friends and neighbors about the treatment. But hire a lawyer because she wasn't apologized to by an hourly employee of a store? What a cheesy idea.

People have sued stores like that and have made millions from much less. A first year law student could assist you with the papers although I would think that there are quite a few starving lawyers who would be happy to take this case on a commission type basis. p.s. I probably would take the stuff back to another TRU store. Buy the stuff at another store for better prices.
