I bought a phone from them off the website tracfone.com and they sent it to me by Fedex 2 business days later. Well, I am thinking pretty good things about this company. I put the sim card in and charge the phone and am thinking all is well. Then I try and activate the phone. This is when all hell breaks loose! The phone will not activate and the customer service reps cannot speak english. They have been telling me to wait a couple of days and try again just to put me off. The phone does not work and never will. I would mail it back to them but I know I would never get a refund. I am out 25 bucks so I did not get hurt bad, I just wish I had checked them out at Rip-off Report first!

Online chat works

I have had best results with online chat.  Be patient in explaining the issue and you can get a solution.  I have 5 tracfones and they helped with several issues on one chat, I was a bit surprised... but it was all taken care of.  Just need to spend a little time while they work it all out (read your emai or the news online while chatting...).

Try online chat.

I have had best results with online chat.  Try that next time.  And if the first representative doesn't help, say thank you and hang up and start another chat to get a different operator.  Some are more knowledgable on different issues than others.

OK for me

Tracfone has always come through for solutions for me.  Remember that the free phones are usually refurbished and the minutes are non-subscription... I have had issues and tried the online chat first.  That seems to work best with me.  Some solutions came from the phone operator, but when I had a problem by phone help, I said "thank you" and went online chat.  If the phone was defective at first, Tracfone should have sent a replacement (and possibly a paid label for return).  Not sure why it didn't work for you.

My Free Phone Was Exchanged

I too ordered the "free phone with purchase of minutes" deal, and I also received a faulty phone, and I also had to endure the "poor English" customer service call. I, however, was given a Florida address & case number to use for phone repair/replacement. I did receive a second phone, and this one worked better (I was dealing with a refurbished free phone). Tracfone customer service reps are near impossible to understand/communicate with! My husband's service(phone number) was cancelled for no reason, but when he called to ask why, they just could not understand he wasn't a new customer trying to set up service. He just gave up, accepted a new number, and moved on.

Don't do it!

Well, it has been a month and the phone does not work. Tracfone will not let me return or refund because the phone was "free" and the "airtime" purchased is non-refundable. They have got a good ripoff going here......
