I'm a recent college graduate who has been job hunting since the end of my internship back in July. Needless to say, I was beyond thrilled to receive an email from the Trademark Management Group receptionist, Lindsey (last name unknown), where she stated that the directors reviewed my resume, and they wanted to request a formal interview with me. Now, mind you, I don't even recall sending them my resume/cover letter to that group, but I applied to so many marketing/public relations-based jobs, I was not about to close the door on a 'golden opportunity.' I interviewed the first day with a director, Andrew, a good-looking young guy, who didn't even really ask about me in particular. He just talked about company goals, and then rambled on for about five minutes. He said I have "fantastic" communication skills (even though I barely got a word in edgewise), and said he'd like me in for a second interview. Second interview date comes around, I talk to an account executive or something, named Steve, and this guy was basically brain-dead. He couldn't spell, couldn't do basic math (subtraction), and he sounded stoned beyond belief. He also barely even spoke about what the job really entailed, just kept repeating things about what the company wants to do and what they're known for. There was no way this guy was a legit manager of anything. But he put a "good word in" for me to Andrew, who then hired me on the spot. Sounded like a great marketing gig, making $600-$800 a week trying to sell people Verizon Fios via promotional events, phone calls/emails, etc. But, what nobody ever told me during either interview was that you are only paid if you sell door-to-door in random, sketchy neighborhoods during crazy hours 40+ a week. It's not an office-based job. Nobody told me that you have to take it upon yourself to drive around attempting to persuade people to buy Fios. Gas expenses, and anything else is on you. Also, you only make $150 for every customer you're able to sell to. I did some investigating on these guys, and they've changed their company names so many times, but they've kept the same employees. They always seem to be on the lookout for more people to draw into their trap, so please, please don't fall for this scam like I did. Every review I've read about them is legitimate. It's exactly as bad as you think it is.

Most recent college graduates start within our organization doing entry level sales and marketing which is a pretty common thing. Over half of all our directors all started off at an entry level position and worked their way up with hard work and determination. We feel that is a normal thing to come across in todays society. We employ people of all ages, from 19-50+. We condcut a 3 step interview process which is pretty transparent where we go over each position within our office. If Marketing/Sales or a Director position is not what you are looking for then probably not a good idea to apply to a Marketing company. We currently employ over 75+ people and we hope people do their research thoroughly before making a decison for themselves rather than reviews from an individual who wasnt even employed within our organization. -Enjoy HR Trademark.
