"one week refresher course is all you need"

"we can get you a job with Falcon transport"

"you will get a certificate at the end of the course stating that you passed"

$1,250.00 later and I'm still waiting for my certificate, still waiting for Falcon to call, and wondering what exactly my $1,250.00 went towards.

Also they don't teach anything - its a good thing I had my CDL before I went there, otherwise I'm not sure I would have gotten it through their teachings - not to mention there junk JUNK equipment. total rip off.

I am writing in response to Mr. Ben who did attend a refresher course. After reviewing his Exiting Critique, Qualification Application, and Trainee File, I find these statements listed on this forum to be contrary to the kudos he gave us once he completed his refresher course. An Exiting Critique is a document that we have every completer of any course we provide complete at the end of their training which allows them to let us know how we are doing as a training provider. If it is possible to post Mr. Ben's Exiting Critique I would gladly do so. He rated our instructional staff at 100%? This is contrary to what was stated on this forum. I am unsure how someone could pat our instructional staff on the back with a 100% rating, then bash their abilities on a internet forum of this kind. He did receive his Certificate of Completion which was sent via USPS after completion of the course. This as well is contrary to what was stated on this forum. He also made mention that our equipment is Junk, Junk, Junk? We currently perform our road training with 2 Brand New Custom 2008 Freightliner M2 112 Business Class Tractors which were being used during the time of Mr. Ben's refresher course. These trucks are worth approximately $250,000 combined and by no stretch of the imagination are junk. In fact, our truck driver training school is the only school in the Tri-State Area using a Custom Rig like these ones. Our backing range units are for on-site use only. They are 1999 Century Class Freightliners as well as two (2) 1990 Freightliner FLD's. Due to the nature of thier use which is to teach someone backing techniques who has usually never backed up an 18 wheeler. Are they brand new trucks, absolutely not. They are practice trucks. They get beat day in and day out because they are being driven by inexperienced drivers trying to learn how to drive them. After reviewing Mr. Ben's enrollment application, I saw that he is infact employable in this industry "based on the information he provided us." He did work off and on as a CDL Driver in the previous few years for several different Trucking Companies. When a driver applies for a trucking company, that company sends an employment verification to any previous trucking company employers that the applying driver has worked for in the past. We do not have access to his employment record with previous Trucking Companies he worked with prior to his refresher course with Transport Tech which means that if a previous Trucking Employer that he worked for gave a potential future employer information contrary to what he gave on his employment application, his application may be denied. Additionally if the potential employer receives a report from a previous employer stating that the driver was involved in an incident/accident or had a claim against them while employed, this could deter the potential employer from hiring that driver. We have provided many drivers with refresher courses so that they could get back into the trucking industry. These drivers fill out multiple applications while in training and we submit them to the potential employer for approval. Mr. Ben only submitted 1 application while in training. Why did Mr. BenWe have never received a complaint in the past which is why I am bewildered as to what went wrong here. Based on the information provided to us, work history was good & driving record & criminal record was satisfactory as listed on our enrollment application. We do not hire drivers we train them. If a driver has no recent driving experience, trucking companies want them to have a refresher course prior to getting started with their companies to ensure that the drivers skills are refreshed. At Transport Tech, we are about getting people jobs. we have been in business for over 10 years. We were the Training Provider of the Year in 1999 and 2003. We recently won two (2) county awards in the same year for being the Training Provider of the Year in 2008. We have testimonials all over our walls of people who benefited from our training who are driving trucks and providing for their families. In my experience in this industry, it is the trainee that has to take their career seriously and get on the road and make it work for them. I make myself readily available to anyone who may read this and can provide references from past graduates that boast about the training they received at Transport Tech and how it helped them in their career as a Professional Truck Driver. Sincerely, Regis
