This is an addendum to my previous complaint about Traxxas. When I contacted them about the defective design of their "Stampede" RC truck, in that it has no bumpers but their advertising on the box claims it has "high clearance" and is sturdy... I asked for the name of the President of their company to address a letter of complaint to. Josh in customer service and Sharla in Administration both told me they "don't give out that information".

It is absurd for a major corporation which Traxxas appears to be to have a policy of secrecy about who is running their company. They are in denial about the fact that a large part of their business comes from selling intentionally defectively designed products, so they can sell replacement parts.

In my original complaint I did not specify that when my 8 year old son ran after the truck when it took off by itself and ran about 1,000 feet until it was stopped by a fence on the large playground where we were, my son followed it all the way. It took me some time to catch up to him and the truck that he was chasing. As stated in my original report, this is the electronic equivalent of a bouncing ball that takes off, your child chases it instinctively and neither come back.

(I addressed how to resolve the defective aspects of their product and remedy I seek in my original complaint.) I find it rather curious that there is only one other person complaining about Traxxas defects on this site. I find it odd how that person reversed their position and apologized to Traxxas after Traxxas filed a rebuttal.

Traxxas owes me and my son an apology and refund for intentionally defective truck and the required accessories. Why do they have to operate in such devious ways? Why not just put crash bumpers on their trucks to start with?

And, they really do need an automatic safety system built into the remote control system, as do all RC vehicles, to make them stop automatically if the operator loses signal control to the vehicle, and/or if the steering goes out, both of which happened to me and my small son.

Traxxas is a scam all the way they try to talk to you as if you dont understand Electronics/Electrical /Mechanical and pneumatics engineering. This is a defective product because they do not have any quality assurance procedures involved in the production of the merchandise, thats why they manufacture it in twain. Then they accuse the consumer for all their faults. I dont understand how they can get away with all out false advertisement and scams.

Like all RC vehicles they are subject to quirks and they demand your constant attention

I have two Traxxas trucks, electric and gas, and feel they're good value for the money. Seem to be well built and sturdy. If you break a part you simply go to your local hobby shop and buy a replacement. Most hobby shops carry just about everything you need for them relatively cheap. Never seen them advertise bumpers on their vehicles and I've never had the need for them. Not sure what the problem is with Traxxas regarding your son running 1000 ft after the truck? Like all RC vehicles they are subject to quirks and they demand your constant attention. If the situation isn't safe to retrieve the vehicle, just tell your son to stay put...

Replacement parts

"They are in denial about the fact that a large part of their business comes from selling intentionally defectively designed products, so they can sell replacement parts." I have been running RC vehicles for years. If i break a stock part I buy an aftermarket part not a stock part and so do most everyone else in the hobby. Your complaint is rediculious, stop crying and learn to drive.
