I received a letter from TriDelta Financial Partners stating that I had won $48,000 in a drawing held on June 17th, 2007. My winning ticket number was 516-236-195 and i only had until the 20th of december to claim my prize.

The letter stated that the lottery was sponsored by publishers clearing house, readers digest, and online gaming.

A check for $4955.00 was included, and the letter stated that the check was payable to me in order to facilitate the payment of international taxes and insurance fees, and is to be deposited into my bank immediately. The fees must be paid before the balance of my prize is remitted to me.

Upon depositing the check i was instructed to call my claims agent at 780-604-4378 at the head office for the processing and remittance of prize money to a destination of my choice.

The whole thing seems kind of wierd to me, esspecially after calling the number and hearing that the mailbox was full. I looked online for tridelta financial partners, the website looked legit, but the number i called asked me to leave a message and i thought that a financial institution should have someone available to talk to or atleast an automated system. So i called publishers clearing house who told me that the check was a fraud. They explained that if they gave away an award of less than $5000 then it would come in the mail certified and i would have to sign for it, and any amount greater than that would be hand delivered by publishers clearing house to me at my house.

So i guess the way that this scam is supposed to work is that you deposit the check. Call the number, where they give you info to western union the money to them, to pay those taxes and fees, then a few weeks later the check bounces in your account you are responsible for paying back your bank. Dont fall for this people!!!

The REAL TriDelta Financial Partners is also a victim

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

As President of TriDelta Financial Partners, I am deeply frustrated and angered by the thieves who are running this scam. They have stolen our company name and logo and used it to help support their illegal activities. My only reason for writing this note is to assure those who have received the letter that we are doing our best to bring the full extent of the law on the perpetrators of this fraud. I would also like to assure you that TriDelta Financial Partners is a legitimate company based in Canada, that is simply trying to do good business for our clients. We are in no way behind these letters, and are in fact victims. The phone numbers listed on the letters are connected to the criminals and are not connected to our firm. Yours truly, Ted Rechtshaffen President and CEO TriDelta Financial Partners
