Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Earlier this year, my minor children each went to a choir event for their schools. They went to two seperate events, and Tri-Star event photo's inc was the company who took the pictures for these events, in Colorado springs, CO.

My children brought home a purchase slip before the event where I could sign up to buy pictures if I chose. I decided not to purchase pictures based on the prices and told my children that we would not be buying pictures.

Low and behold, several weeks after the event, each child recieved an envelope in the mail, my 12 year old son's contained one picture, my 15 year old daughter's contained two. Each envelope contained a bill, totalling almost 60 dollars. I questioned the kids about it, since we were not buying pictures. Each of them said that they were told at the event that they were not signing up to buy pictures, but if they signed a form, they would recieve a link to an internet site where they could purchase pictures if they wanted to. Neither kid was aware that they were actually signing a contract to buy pictures.

I sent both sets of pictures back, in the same envelope, with the bills, stating we were declining the pictures, well within their 30 day time frame. Suddenly I began recieving collection notices from the company in my daughters name. Not my sons, only my daughter. I attempted to call the company, however recieved a recording that stated I needed to email them. I have emailed them 3 times with no response. I contacted the BBB, however the company has declined to respond to them as well. I did some research on line, and discovered that a lot of parents, all over the country, are having the same issues. I've seen many parents pay the fees so that their child's credit is not damaged.

this company has minor children sign a contract and then attempts to collect on minor children, who are not old enough to sign a contract in the first place. They will say anything to these kids to get them to sign, even flat out lying to them. Then, they don't even have the decency to respond to you when you attempt to get to the bottom of this issue.  I'm currently speaking to the school district to find out if any other parents are having the same problem that we are, and I've put our story out on several sites in hopes that it discourages other schools from using this company.
