i agree with joy 100%. If your husband ok'd the services to continue then why are you mad at trugreen, you should be mad at your husband. Why don't you try talking to each other and things like this wouldn't happen. and also an aeration alone will not kill a lawn their had to be an underlying problem. And if you only wanted trugreen to come out every 2 months, then how do you not know if something happened between the times they were out. The company likes to come out every 4-6 weeks because they not only spray for weeds and fertilize but they also need to check for things like disease and insects. And if they only come every 2 months for you then something could have easily been destroying the grass and no one would have known because you wouldn't allow them to come out. Sounds like a case of you thinking you know what's best and not trusting the professionals. If you think you can do it better yourself then do it.

I fully agree with this OP!!!!
TruGreen did NOTHING to my yard and charged me !
In fact, after solicitating me over and over and over again, i finally DID give in because i had weeds but i told them ONE TIME ONLY because i couldnt afford it and because MAINLY ...the residue from the neighbors spray alone caused me and my child trips to the ER. So i told them to NOT DARE come unless and UNTIL they first called so i would get out for a couple days
They then stuttered and stammered and he hawwed and pretty much bowed down and said oh yes oh yes they sure would do that
BUT: they called and called and bugged the heck out of me again! so i said FORGET IT!! im tryin to go out of town for a couple days. DOnt come at all. But when i got back home, lo and behold . A bill on my door!! From May til October they say they sprayed my DONT SPRAY TIL YOU CALL yard. NO mam we wont. "
And for 6 months theyve billed me 3 and 4 times a month! Screw them. I believe every word this woman says and why not check all the RIPOFF reports ? and the BBB? and several other websites? always always trugreen is listed.

Not much about your story makes any sense.
So you fire the company & your husband rehires them?
This piece makes very little sense. Do you and your husband talk or discuss things. It sounds like you call all the shots and discuss nothing with him, right? Do you give him an allowance also? It sounds like you never said anything to your husband. Then they called to see if they could treat the lawn for the new year, he obviously says yes and is now too scared to tell you about it for fear of a beat down. It also sounds liek your husband agreed to the prices and the service and you don't want to admit it.
- So you think Aeration can kill a lawn?
Nope, Aeration is simply a cultivation practise. It is a machine that pokes holes in the grass. Golf courses do it many times per year. It sounds like you had issues to begin with and they were trying different things to help. The aeration never hurt the lawn, something else did. Sorry but lawns are living things, and like all living things they can die or get sick. It doesn't mean they weren't getting enough vitamins, it just means they get sick. Didn't Florida just have a tremendously harsh winter? I see very few yards that never had damage from the freezes. My yard got damaged from the multiple freezes. Are you blaming them for this also?

Aeration can kill your lawn if not done proper or over done. One should only aretate once a year prior to fertilation but why pay for that when one can do this task in about 1 hour time by themself.

Aeration by itself cannot kill your lawn. I must have been something else that you either were or weren't doing. Over-watering, under-watering, insects, fungus or other disease was most likely the culprit. While Trugreen's customer service has a reputation for aggressive tactics, (I don't like their tactics either) you can't always pin the blame for poor grass on them just because you don't like the way they do business.
