Tualatin Valley Chevrolet Ripoff! Warranty Required Scam! Forest Grove Oregon
Tualatin Valley Chevrolet (TVC) sold me a used car. The salesman informed me that in order to get my auto loan approved I was required, by the finance company, to purchase an extended warranty for $1500.
I then received a letter from the finance company verifying the details of my loan. In the letter I was informed that any additional purchases made at the dealership (including extended warranties) were purely optional, and NOT required for completion of the loan.
I contacted TVC immediately and requested that they cancel the unnecessary service contract and refund my money. Needless to say, they declined and informed me I had no other recourse.
I have since contacted the state Attorney General's Office and filed a claim. The consumer services representative told me I would get my money back, the only question is how long it will take.
