Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After several calls, 2 certified letters, and calls from my lawyer, this company refuses to give me copies of my contract as well as a copy of the original estimate. The foreman who did the move stated the "office would send it" -- he did not have my copies. -- doesn't law require businesses to provide copies of contracts ???????

The foreman also said he was not from this country and had to move on so this was his last job (sound a bit strange?)

US Movers tried to charge me for over 9600 lbs when in actuality I only had 6,560 lbs -- my lawyer got that straightened out.

They were supposed to move my stuff up here tomorrow but when I gave them credit card info, they now state that they do not take credit cards for final payments & it is in my contract (which they never sent me & I have been trying to get for the last 5 months !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Needless to say, coming up with $1574.00 cash on a Friday afternoon was impossible so I had to cancel the move (both certified letters requested the necessary payment info to expedite this -- they never called back)

Now they are going to charge me for additional storage as well as additional expenses for the move.

After reading the pletheora of complaints regarding moving companies stiffing people and holding their belongings hostage, it would seem that conduct is the norm for perhaps the majority. If /when I move, I think I'll have a GREAT BIG garage sale, sell everything but my vehicles, shuttle them to the new location, and start from scratch on all else. Rather reprehensible behavoir, changing the terms and/ or pricing AFTER taking posession of a persons sole posessions. I think that might make me go postal. Gotta' avoid that!
