Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I called National Properties in Ventura, California for a listing of properties in my area (Texas). The salesperson I spoke with took my information and then wanted my credit dard number. I was hesitant to give it over the phone, and I told him that if he was dishonest it would not do him any good anyway, as there was no funds in the account (it was due to be closed since I had moved from that state). He said if I cancelled prior to thirty days, I would not be charged the 89.00 fee. However, I was charged immediately, and I was charged a 22.00 fee by the bank for NSF fee. When I called to complain, the saleperson said that when the packet came in, to call in and cancel.

So when the packet came in, I called and the person told me which form to fill out, and I sent it in. A week later I still did not have my money, so I called in. I was told I had to wait six months to get my money (now less shipping and handling) because I filled out the wrong form. I told them I filled out the form I was told to fill out (which was called the cancellation form), and I was told they would send me another form to fill out to get the money sooner.

So now I am waiting on that form in hopes of getting back my money. In all this time I asked each time to speak to a manager or supervisor and was denied each time. Also, I was initially told the service fee was to be 89.00 unless I cancelled. It turned out to be 98.00. I have filed complaints with the BBB, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Texas State Attorney General's Office, all of which have turned out to be useless. I told the salesperson on the phone that I was going to contact the BBB again and he said "Go for it." I am "going for it!"

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... click here to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
