I am an ex-employee of UACC. I am trying to find other ex-employees of United Auto Credit, who feel they were wrongfully terminated and would be interested in a class action law suit. If there is anyone who would like to look into this, please file to this report or file your own new report so others will know. Thank you.

UACC from corporate on down to Division, Regional, Branch, and Asst. Branch Mgrs. all the way to the collections mgr. and collector. They place the blame downhill. You all would be shocked if you really knew what goes on behind closed doors. They have access to 3rd parties that acquire just about anything on anybody from the time they(the targeted debtor) are 2 years old. No other business has the quantity of skips that the subprime auto finance industry does. Just to give you an example of some of the info is access to unlisted phone numbers, addresses and former addresses of you, your relatives, and neighbors, and lots of pretexting to obtain info. Some of them even have lowjacks that the customer doesn't know about usually mounted in the dashboard. Be aware that FDCPA laws only apply to 3rd party. In which in UACC's case they are 1st party. I don't condone anything of the above and I'm reluctant to say some of the above but people need to know some of their shady tactics. As an employee the upper management has a theory and guideline that "A customer who is even 1 day late is harrassment to us" so inturn you get harrassed until the deliquency ratio is low enough. Even 2% is high to them. The employees see the progress reports of different branches and it's competitive to them to be the lowest. Treatment from some of the branch mgmt. is horrendous. Some think they can get away with mistreatment since they are the acting HR and the company HR is at corporate. They've made some people cry by the some of the things they say. But their lame excuse is " you're not making it uncomfortable for the customers who pay late so we are making you uncomfortable" I've seen in different branches quite a few incidents of uncomfortable and mentally degrading enviroments. This even goes on from a Regional Mgr. to a Branch Mgr. C in the Burgh, I'd be with you in a class action suit against them, but most of our evidence would be objected by UACC Counsel as "Hear Say" and inadmissible in a civil trial court.

Somebody bought into Ray Thousand's fantasy world...and he/she lives in Chili OH. I did file the whistleblower hotline, the BM found out, and so that no one could think twice about his lack of intelligence, he immediately fired me, in clear violation of federal laws. Thankyou for commenting on several items in the forum, it helps illustrate the nature of UACC and it's diehard employees. Clearly you must just be right out of college and feel UACC does nothing wrong. I felt that way about my 1st job too. So when you move out of mommys basement, take a step back and realize that you too are part of UACC's wrongdoings, including documenting a persons loan information to the entire world. that was a boo boo.

If that's what you thought about the company or its' practices, why did you stay till you were fired? Why didn't you call the whistleblower hotline # they provide? You should just go get a job, probably not in collections. Take some responsibility for your actions. You should rethink your position.

Former UACC Collections Mgr looking for more info on Uacc Violations

#8UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sat, September 08, 2007

Greetings. I was recently employed by UACC (United Auto Credit) as a collections supervisor, and during the 6 weeks or so I spent there witnessed overtime violations (non-exempt employees being told to clock out then finish work as overtime not paid at UACC per BM/ABM), a variety of FDCPA & Privacy Law violations (ie:discussing personal/financial information w/3rd parties and references w/out consent from consumer and calling refs sometimes multiple times in one day even when told to stop calling, let alone calling employers when told by consumer not to, etc etc), Forgeries (placing a copy of a persons signature on other forms by copying and pasting from a contract or credit application, ie:employment verification forms), refusing breaks every day and occasionally lunches to non-exempt employees. This doesn't include the verbal abuse from upper management to multiple employees or the unnecessary abuse of most customers, citing company policy. I should clarify that these abuses where ordered by the BM and ABM of our branch and not by me, and that my reluctance to accept and engage in such activities likely resulted in my termination. I am interested in hearing from other current/ ex-employees of UACC/ UPFC with similar complaints/ circumstances as I was terminated or in their words, "no longer have a need for your services" when I disputed a series of false statements made about me by our assistant branch manager. The Branch Manager has since taken another job outside of the company and I believe they will use him as the scapegoat as there is no longer recourse against him, alllowing ABM to continue doing more of the same and avoid being disciplined for her actions here. Please let me know via email if any similar issues exist at other branches as UACC corporate needs to address the issues and compensate past and present employees for unpaid overtime, wrongful dismissal(s) etc. Thankyou.

#9Consumer Suggestion

Thu, May 24, 2007

Veronica, hopefully this information I'm providing you will assist you. There are a several things that you can do. First, you need to file a complaint with a few agencies. File a complaint with the office of the Attorney General about the company's practices; file a complaint with the better business bureau (all though they usually do nothing its good to have it on record). Filing complaints will help get the ball rolling and bring this company illegal procedures to light. I've also read other complaints where this company contacted people listed as references, and revealed information in regards to your account. This is a big violation of consumer protection laws, file a complaint with the SEC at SEC.gov; and consult with a lawyer who deals in consumer protection because there have been cases where people sued and were awarded damages. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. The state of Texas has a reinstate policy, where it allows the consumer to reinstate the contract if it's the first repossession on the contract, or it's there hasn't been repossession on the contract with in the last 18 months. You can find this information at http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/bc.toc.htm once you get to this link go to section 9 chapter 623 (right to redeem collateral).

I'm not going to say anything too out of line, but I will say to be very cautious with them. If you need a job, then all I can say is go for it. But if you have time to keep searching, I would say that would be your best option. Just do a search for them on here, and you'll find plenty about them. I hope this and the other reports will help you in making your decision.

#14UPDATE Employee

Thu, May 03, 2007

I am applying for a new job and have been "courted" by UACC and interviewed. My question, I am not familiar with this company at all and stumbled upon this posting by accident--by trying to find more inof on this company before interviewing for a job. What do I need to know or what am I getting into? I haven't formed a concrete opinion yet. Being Considered in Seattle
