In my response of 20 Feb, I said I had finally recieved the refund on my mothers behalf. I thought I was finally done with this company. WRONG. I just received a bill for another premium, along with a past due notice. Now I begin another round with this company that seems to prey on people on the hopes that someone will see the bill and pay it without question. Again, no person can give a phone number for a corporate headquarters for this company, and are only able to provide a PO box in Ca. They will get no money from mom, and I hope they send it to collections, because then I go after them with everything. People, beware of UNICARE.

Well, I finally received the refund on my mothers behalf from UNICARE. It only took 1 year and a multitude of phone calls. One hint, I told them each time I called that I was recording the conversation for accuracy purposes. I also informed them that I was filing a complaint on this site, as well as going to the media. As I explained to them numerous times, it was only about 70 dollars, but take that and multiply it by how many thousands of people that they may be ripping off, and it's a nice little profit. As I said in my previous post though, I would NEVER have anything to do with this company.

I do not have coverage thru this company, however, when the medicare part D fiasco began, my mother's information was given to Unicare and she was automatically enrolled. Since she is in a facility that requires certain things, she is unable to utilize Unicare. She was sent a premium notice in early 2006, which she paid, however, because of her income status, she should not even have received a bill. I have been trying since February 2006, to obtain a refund on her behalf. The only numbers I can get, is for customer service. Seems everyone in charge of this company is in hiding. I have been told 4 times now, that it will take 6 to 8 weeks, or 3 weeks, or pick a number of days, any number of days. I've attempted to find any information on the company, phone number wise, but can only find sales numbers, and customer service, which there is none. I would hate to have to make a claim with this company. Oh, they'll send my information to their grievence department, big deal. Perhaps you might want find another insurance company to deal with. I know I would NEVER recommend UNICARE to anyone for anything. They'll take your money, but then try to find them. I wish you luck.
