I traveled by United Airlines from Los Angeles to DC in the mittle of June. I paid $30 for my second extra bag. Upon getting to DC, this second bag never arrievd. I lodged a complaint at the airport immediately and checked into my hotel. After calls to them, they confirmed that that the bag was still in Los Angeles and that they were sending it to my hotel the following day. They never did.



After 4 days in DC, I returned to Los Angeles and went straight to their baggage claims office, picked up the bag that never left Los Angeles, and was given a form to fill for refund. I did and sent it to United Airlines, ATTN Central Baggage Services-HDQLZ, P O Box 66140, Chicago, IL 60666-0140.



I was flabbergasted when I received a response from their claims representative saying that "we are unable to additionally compensate you as requested."



In other words, I paid United Airlines $30 for doing nothing: they did not carry my bag to DC and they do not want to reimburse me. This is very unfair. I have written twice to make them understand that they must pay me back my $30 but they have kept quoting their same jungle law. Somebody in Los Angeleas did not do his/her job and they must find out that person or they must pay me back. It is a rippoff!
