We bought a vehicle through United Auto Credit back in November of 2005. United auto credit takes it upon themselves to harras us 5 to 7 days before the date of when our car payment is due. If they call me at home and my wife answers she tells them that I am at work. They then call my work and harras me at work. PLEASE understand that this is before the payment date is due.

Then they called me up and told me that I had to make my payment 2 days early because my payment was due on a weekend and that are not opened then. Which I already sent my payment out by check already. They told me that the didn't recieve it by the friday before that I was in breech of my contract with them and that they would take the car back.

One day they called my work and and they told the secretary that the person that was calling was my wife, that I should call home and it was an emergency. Note that this was 5 days before the due date of my payment.

we did some investigating of our own and found out that they cannot change the due date (ILLEGAL) They cannot harrass you at work or at home if you ask them not to. (ILLEGAL) They say that their is no grace period on your loan and if you look on the back of your loan agreement it says 2% pentally after 10 days late. Sound like a grace period to me. We inquired and where told that all loans in Pennsylvania have a ten day grace period.

To the people that want to leave a bad comment. All our payment are made before the due date even rolls around, but they still harrass us. We where told to contact the attorney generals office about this, which we are in the process of doing. Also thinking of contacting an attorney about possible cicil harrassment lawsuit. Thank you

Hello, If you look at the other posts... This type of behavior is typical of UACC. This is why many of us have made out mission to educate as to what you can expect when dealing with this company. They will harass you before the loan is due. They are a sub-prime lender which to UACC means you are considered HIGH risk and therefore free game for their illegal collection practices. In your case: The law states if you tell your creditor you are not supposed to receive calls at work, they must cease communication with you at work. UACC will not listen to you. Also, disclosing information regarding your account is illegal as well. The only thing they can contact your references about is your whereabouts. Trust me... They don't stop here either. They actually told a reference one time they could not get a hold of me that I was a deadbeat scum bag. NICE.. HUH. So, god forbid, you don't immediately return a call. Their next step is they will send someone to your home and or office to harass you in person. And they can not arbitrarily change the due date on yur loan because it happens to fall on a weekend or holiday. I also had a 9 day grace period in my contract. They don't care. They will try to tell you that in UACC's eyes, anything over 10 days late is actually 30 days late on their books. Believe me, I can write a book about my experiences with this company. All I can advise you with this company is to never be late on your loan and be prepared to endure their harassment the duration of your loan. If you can fix your credit and refinance with another lender.. Please try to accomplish this. Make certain you are educated on the federal and state laws pertaining to your loan. UACC treats their clients as if they are completely ignorant. Hope this helps.
