Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I bought a car for my daughter from United Best Auto Sales, Inc. First I have to tell you that my daughter is friends with jay's daughter, so we went and so a Honda Accord 1996, Jay said to us that it was in excellent condition and since our daughter were friends he will give us a great "deal" even if he did not make any profit and sadly being the worst mistake of our lives we fall into his trap. We paid $4,000 cash. The car has actually over 176,000 miles!!!!!! Jay did not showed us the full Car Fox!!!! He knew about because since he got the car in an action the miles were reported much less!!Oh God How Can He be so EVIL.....

More over, the car had so many mechanical problems that we were told by a professional mechanic it was not worth it.i am apreparing my case to open an investigation with Detectives from the  DMV, they are the ones that give the llicence to sell,Department Of Justice and of coarse Small Claims!!!!!! If you are another victim or know some one please let me know,

Alabama,
Tampering with the odometer is a crime.

Most persons tried for odometer tampering go to state rather than federal court. The penalties for odometer tampering vary according to applicable state statues. In Florida, for example, tampering with an odometer is one crime; selling such a car constitutes a separate crime. In many Florida cases, odometer tampering results in charges of odometer fraud, title fraud and grand theft. All three of these are third-degree felonies in Florida.

Offenders can receive up to five years in prison and fines as high as $5,000 for each charge. Therefore, a single instance of changing an odometer, providing inaccurate title documents, and selling the car could result in 15 years in prison and $15,000 in fines. The Florida law also requires those convicted of odometer tampering to pay restitution to their victims.

Dear Jim,

Thank you for your coment, aldough you do not have to be so rude judging my grammar. Yes, I should have known better, however, just remember our daughters are closed friends, he was somebody we trusted. Moreover, about the profit, do not take it so literally of coarse   he was going to make some profit. In addition to all this rebuttal, I just want to advise our community to beware of United Best Auto Sales, Inc.

p.s. do not forget the odometer altering, are you excusing that also because we were not careful?

Jim

This place is a "business" right?  The purpose of a business is to make money.  Why would you even think there was no profit in this sale?  Hello!  Anybody home upstairs???  So you move forward and buy this car, this old car with lots of miles.  You expect it to NOT have problems?  As for the Car Fax...did you ask for it?  If he refused to provide it, why did you buy the junk?  Then incredibly, you take the car to your own mechanic AFTER you buy it!  Don't you think the time to have your mechanic check the car over is BEFORE you buy it???  Next time, take somebody with you who knows what they're doing and also take some lessons on English composition, spelling and punctuation.
