I started receiving phone calls from a man called Raymond Scodd, and he said that he was with United Cash Loans. He said that I had taken out a payday loan in March, and had not paid it back. In the background I could hear what sounded like a "sweat shop". He started out talking calmly, but after several denials, his voice escalated to almost a scream. He threatened to ruin me financially, and professionally. After hanging up on him, I received a 3 way phone call between Mr. Scodd, one of my co-workers, and myself. To my horror, he was telling her that I owned money, and that I was a criminal!
After he called and harrassed my co-workers, he called me and told me that my job was in jeopardy if I didn't pay him. I ask for the address of the company so I could send them a money order (not intending to at all), but he said that the only way I could pay was to give him my banking account number. When I refused, he made more threats, so I hung up.
I have his voice mails, and the conversation with my co-worker on my cell phone. What should my next steps be?
