I was , like the other lady on this site was sold by the fact that they are on CNN as being wonderfutl and that all cases are handled with a team effort and that that are not a referral company. They even have a warning on their site to warn you about referral companies. I hired them for a criminal offense for a family member it was 10,000. I was not comfortable with the contract wording and David Rosen said he would e-mail me an addendum to certain clauses....never happened. The public defender saw my family before the one hired by United Defence. I could not reach the Michigan attorney assigned by United. He would not return my calls nothing was getting done After many complaints to United I finally got the attorney to call me back. He was supposed to get the bond reduced on 1/11/2010 and didnt do it , when he showed up he just waived my families right to a prelim exam and said "Oh I didnt know I was supposed to get the bond reduced. My family spent a total of 45 days in jail before the bond was reduced and I did most of the work. I knew something was wrong and started doing some digging to find out the Michigan attorney was hired by United. He specialized in estate planning not criminal law. United defense did nothing to aid him and he hurt the case somewhat already. I realized I was scammed and fired them before it was too late and my niece and nephew would be without a mother for who knows how long. United defense said they were going to send a refund but they have done nothing but brush me off. With a number of excuses, its disgusting. Thank God I found the other ripoff report on them and fired them before it was too late. They did exactly the opposite of what they promised on the website. For the sake of you or a loved one look into them before hiring . I lost 10,000 for nothing but a bond reduction. I hired a real firm to handle the rest of the case and I can finally sleep at night. I feel like a fool it really hurt me emotionally and financially my credit card will be a task to pay off. I could have hired an unqualified bonehead myself for 2-3000 if I wanted to send my family to jail for a good long time. I didnt need them to charge all the extra for a phone call. I cant imagine someone who couldnt get anymore funds and had to deal with the consequences they got delt for hiring them. They should be investigated and probably alot of parties paid retribution. Filing with the California State Bar to let them know. Check out their website its impressive thats why I was a sucker enough to trust them with my families life. Never again, I'm scarred and skeptable its hard to trust anyone. I get chest palpitations when I think about it . I know I have to forgive....it will be very hard. I will forgive them but with all the resources I have I will not allow them to hurt anyone else.

After a long time with alot of brush offs, they did give me back nearly half of the 10,000.
So it was 5,000 for a bond hearing and for him to insults them once and waive their rights once.
Any other hours charged was for internal work and research. I am glad this is over and despite the costs I;m still glad I got different representation.
