Don't walk away from United Movers Group...RUN as fast as you can.

BAIT and SWITCH

They advised they were an owner/operator of a fleet of moving vans which they use exclusively to serve their customer base, when in fact they are a broker using a sales and customer service boiler room which apparently represents multiple moving group brokers, using multiple phone numbers including (877) 754-3574.

United removed money from my bank account, never provided a contract, and didn't show up after scheduling several pick ups.

Appears to be THEFT BY DECEPTION

Their staff including Gina and Walt(ext. 404) were the most rude and unprofessional service personnel I have ever encountered. Their sales person, Adam(ext 415) whose email is [email protected], assured personal oversight, provided his alleged cell phone number (954) 495-8887 which he has not answered, apparently to build unjustified customer confidence, but instead took my money and disappeared. They caused considerable damage to me and my family and executed what feels like a well-crafted scam.

SCAMS CANNOT GO UNASWERED

I am going to file a complaints against them with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, American Moving & Storage Association, Better Business Bureau, and file a well-deserved lawsuit against them including Adam, Gina, and Walt in their individual capacities.

SUGGESTION

Work with a real owner/operator who is responsible for their fleet and drivers and has professional customer service rather than an outfit like United Movers Group and save yourself a lot of pain.

Apparently United Movers Group has abused quite a few clients in just the last 30 days as reported on MY MOVING REVIEWS

STAY AWAY. I made a yelp account for the sole reason to warn people in need of a moving company to NOT chose United Movers Group. They were supposed to move my belongings on 5/21 (sunday) and assured us they would get there in the morning. Around noon that day, as nobody had showed up, we attempted to contact (via phone and e-mail) United Movers Group to get an explanation- after a chain of 5 e-mails, somebody finally (3pm) had the decency to contact us to let us know the truck had broken down and they were going to be late- precisely 2 days late 5/23. Mind you, my whole house is packed at this point, an we need to move to the new city to get things going there. So we drive up to our new residence. We contacted United Movers Group, who assured us that they would be coming in on 5/23. My husband had to drive down to our old residence (4.5 hrs away) to let them pack our stuff. He drove there in the morning, and at 2pm they notified him that the movers wouldn't be there until the next day. SHAME ON YOU United Movers group, your employees have been EXTREMELY unprofessional, and have made promises they can't keep. You're employees have TERRIBLE communication skills and the service you provide is HORRENDOUS. If there was an option to give you 0 stars I would. Do not waste your time - as I have (1 week) dealing with this INCOMPETENT company.

Clearly the "5" star ratings are fraudulent BUT the "1" star ratings are not. We have experienced just about everything the 1 star raters have experienced. If you go to https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/red-flags

you'll clearly see that United Movers Group exhibits 100% of the definition of "rogue movers." Be aware and steer clear. We're going on Facebook to have all of our friends write similar reviews to swamp this group so they don't continue to destroy peoples' lives.

This company promised us several things and have delivered on NONE of them. Their customer service staff, managers, and supposedly a general manager have all been the most disrespectful, condescending and downright dirty people I've ever dealt with. I will never do business with this company again, and HIGHLY urge anyone considering them to look elsewhere. 0/5 STARS.

We will be pursuing litigation against United Movers Group. We moved from Durango, CO to Austin, TX on 4/7/17. After numerous phone calls to them because our stuff wasn't arriving, it finally came today, 5/6/17. And what did we find? Our king sized mattress was soaking wet [EDIT]. I don't think anyone has destroyed my property in such a disgusting manner in my life. My husband's bike is also broken, and the microwave is smooshed in. There may be other damage, that's just what we've seen so far.

Other highlights: their respective trucks broke down a total of four times during our move. They did not provide a bill of lading upon arrival in Durango. They raised their prices when the cubic feet was more than expected. They tried to coerce me for a tip, and I'm so glad I didn't! They advertise they will be there in 14 days, but obviously it was much longer.

Do not use. I'm begging you do not.

Unprofessional staffs, no delivery on time, no body responds to your call or email after you send your stuffs and you pay part of the payment, missing all the 4 legs of the kitchen table and several broken coffee table legs, missing one of the wheel of the bed, tired of trying to reach the company for the claim but nobody responds to your call, voice message and not even email which they were very quick to respond until no payment was handed, staffs wont unload your stuffs until and unless they receive all the payments in hand saying its a company policy, asked the driver for the contact number to claim the missing things, gave a wrong number and wrong name saying that its his phone number and would address it ASAP. Never ever make a deal with such a terrible company by just the false ratings and reviews other wise you will end up being cheated like us.

In all honesty, I can't give this company more than one star. My move from Seattle to Pittsburgh was nothing but one nightmare after another. They were 3 days late picking up my goods and I was informed that the delivery date would be between 12 to 21 days, maximum. It took 7 weeks (52 days). After numerous calls to the Florida office (talking to a different person each time) and getting no results, I was able to contact the driver on March 14 (20 days into my move) and was told by him that the truck slid into a ditch to avoid an accident in Utah on March 7 and they were trying to get the truck back on the road.On March 20, I was advised by a company representative that the truck was in Iowa and would be in Pittsburgh by March 23/24 and if it didn't show up I was to call back. It never showed up, I called, and was told that the truck was in Iowa and on its way. I was finally told by the dispatching supervisor in Florida that I was calling too much and he was considering it harassment. I called again on March 29 and was informed that the truck was having computer problems and that the engine kept shutting off. It was now in Gary, Indiana.I then starting calling the person who originally picked up my furniture in Seattle. He would not answer his phone, had no voice mail, and would only answer me through texts when I pleaded with him. On April 12 I received the phone number of the "new" driver and started communication with him. He answered his phone and used texts also. He guaranteed to be in Pittsburgh by April 15. He was there and he delivered all my furniture when he said he would. He does not work for United Movers Group. When I talked with him he told me he picked up my goods in California on April 10/11 and drove straight to Pittsburgh, ariving April 15. In my opinion, this explains why the United Movers Group gave me so many different explanations. This company never calls you when they say they would, they never follow through on anything they say and they definitly have no empathy for the customer. Also, imagine paying for food and lodging (which is approximately $100 per day) for 52 days ($5200) instead of 21 days ($2100). To add to my frustration, my wife's cremated remains were on that truck and, in my opinion, they showed no compassion for the stress and anxiety I was going through. The only reason I am giving them one star is because they did reduce my final bill by $300. Please do not use United Movers Group. They have offices in Aventura, FL and Niles, IL

They required an upfront payment of a third of the entire cost of the move to lock us into the deal.

They ensured us that packing materials and labor would be provided free of charge. The day they arrived, they gave us a second estimate of about double the original estimate price, after we were already locked into the deal.

We called and asked for a refund and were refused. We decided to have them take exactly what was contractually agreed upon, since apparently we had to pay either way, and we ended up having to pay additionally to take out a trailer with the rest of our stuff as well.

After loading the exact 20 boxes we had agreed upon, they tried to charge me an additional 100+ dollars because the boxes were, ‘larger than the estimated size’, so I asked them to remove enough boxes to hit the contractual amount we agreed on. Then, they charged me 50+ dollars for an additional cost of plastic wrap, which they had used without my consent (though we were previously told that packing materials were free).

Instead of allowing us to pay online or by phone, they emailed us shady wire transfer instructions, which made it impossible to receive proof of payment through them, and annoying to prove by keeping proof of wire transfer receipts from the bank. During transit of my items, we called multiple times to try to confirm that they had received our payments, but the calls were not answered, and we received no reply.

Then the delivering driver had an accident and crushed half of our boxes, 3 of which had fragile (and now broken) items in them. My $2000 custom sectional couches were covered with blankets that came out of the truck in tatters. A chair was broken, and I’m still unsure as to whether or not my TV was damaged in the incident.

The driver could not finish the delivery until the company acknowledged that they had received payment. He called them, waited an hour and a half for them to respond. When they finally did

respond, they were adamant that they had not received payment until we presented the driver with a bank receipt proving that we had transferred the rest of the money.

Had we not gone out of our way to print a confirmation of wire transfer, they could have denied receiving it and withheld our furniture and boxes indefinitely.

List of damages:

Couch is scraped in two spots, and one of the caps for a leg is broken.

Broken dishes and glasses from multiple boxes

Three boxes were smashed with our personal items sticking out of it.

Please read all reviews before making any decision, all the good reviews are paid, fake or made by employees. I was talking with the truck driver, while the crew was packing which was nice and that's what he told me, this company was a completely nightmare, 2 days late to pick up. And then the charged me triple!, yes triple!! Be very careful with [NAME EDIT] or [NAME EDIT] she is the worse. They sound so nice on the phone and they would do whatever to get your money! I showed the quote which was very accurate, and compared to other 2 companies. They stay in your home for 2 hours or more talking to people over the phone, and they say they trying to get the best deal for you, because the quote isn't accurate. I finished paying triple of the price because I was with my 5 year old daughter and a plane to catch. When the delivered.. things were broken, and they didn't assemble all like they promised. You can pay 20% less with a very good company like mayflower! If you already gave the deposit is even better to loose it before going on with this company. Believe me!
