The United Vacation Network, UVN, claims that by taking 3 trips for two outside the continental USA, members can save $5000. These savings from airfare and accomodations. The cost to join UVN is $5144. These trips would be 7 nights or more to Hawaii, Central America, Europe, Australia, South Africa and such. Also they claim accomodations for $40 to $80 per night for hotels such as the W, Hilton, Four Seasons, and Mariott. UVN claims lower airfares outside the lower 48 than Orbits. UVN quotes round trip airfares from Huntsville, AL to Hawaii to be $400, to Australia $800, to Europe $400 and to South Africa $800.

Airfare from Huntsville, Alabama to Hawaii was quoted to be $400 by their sales team. This is untrue once I got access to their travel agency and asked for airfare to Hawaii they quoted higher rates than what I can get on my own from Orbits. Typical airfare HSV-HNL is $750 per person round trip. The UVN has no discounts over Orbits rates. Had the UVN rate for Hawaii been $500 or so that would be a good value.

My first Hotel reservation to Atlanta I was quoted $120 for one night at the W hotel, this is the same rate I can get on my own with Orbits. After refusing that rate the travel agency gave me the next day Hilton for $65. The bill at the Hilton is $84 plus tax. There is no $65 for this hotel. The travel agents tell thier customers anything to prevent or postpone complains.

I have informed MBNA credit card company to protect their credit card holders from doing business with UVN. I have asked UVN to credit my MBNA account and I have asked MBNA to credit my account as well.

If you enter into a legally binding agreement and the company is fulfilling your agreement to all the terms and conditions set forth then please understand that even if you dispute your charges to your credit card company they will more than likely be reversed. Further it is an illegal action taken on your part if you have entered into a legally binding agreement and your agreement is not breached and you are outside your cancellation period. It is always very wise to make sure that you read over your entire agreement to the fullest and contact any company with any questions you may have.

United Vacation is a Scam Here is how to Get your Money Back!!!

Have you ever been tempted to sign up to win a "free" trip at a fair, trade show or restaurant? If so, you may get a phone call, letter, unsolicited fax, email or postcard telling you that you've won a vacation. Be careful. It may be a "trip trap." The vacation that you've "won" likely isn't free. And the "bargain-priced" travel package you're offered over the telephone or Internet may not fit your idea of luxury. While some travel opportunities sold over the phone or offered through the mail, Internet or by fax are legitimate, many are scams that defraud consumers out of millions of dollars each month. The word "offer" can be a clue to hidden charges. When you get the phone call, or place the call in response to a postcard, letter, fax or Internet ad, you also get a sales pitch for a supposedly luxurious trip - one that you could pay dearly for. The salesperson may ask for your credit card number to bill your account for the travel package. Once you pay, you receive the details of the "package," which usually include instructions for making trip reservation requests. Your request often must be accompanied by yet another fee. In addition, many offers require you to pay upgrade costs to receive the actual destinations, accommodations, cruises or dates you were promised. Some offers may require you to pay more for port charges, hotel taxes or service fees. See a pattern developing? New charges are being added every step of the way. You may never get your "bargain" trip because your reservations may not be confirmed or because you must comply with hard-to-meet hidden or expensive "conditions." YOU CAN GET YOUR MONEY BACK BY ASKING YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY VISA/MASTERCARD AMERICAN EXPRESS..TO GIVE YOU BACK YOUR MONEY. THIS WILL CAUSE THE COMPANY TO HAVE TO GIVE YOU BACK THE MONEY FOR THE THINGS THEY PROMISED AND FAILED TO HOLD UP THEIR END OF THE BARGAIN. YOU ARE ENTITLED TO GET THE MONEY BACK UP TO 6 MONTHS AFTER THE RIP OFF OCCURRED AND YOU CAN CONTACT: Several organizations can provide additional information and help you with complaints. Your state Attorney General or the Attorney General in the state where the company is located probably has a division that deals with consumer protection issues. The American Society of Travel Agents, Consumer Affairs, at 1101 King Street, Alexandria,VA 22314, may be able to mediate your dispute with an ASTA member. The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop and avoid them. To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit www.ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. United Vacation Network is a membership travel program. Members purchase programs to suit their individual travel needs. We offer our members resort weeks that may be traveled anywhere at set prices, web-site capability to view our monthly specials, and full use of our travel department. We only advertise the lowest possible rates available at the time of booking for all airfare, hotel, cruise, and rental car bookings. Prices that are mentioned for airfare during a presentation, are subject to extreme and frequent price changes due to consumer demand, and availiablity status. An air quote can literally change from moment to moment; therefore we cannot guarantee any rate until we lock down the booking. All members are made aware of this when they sign the Consumer Disclosure Questionnaire. Our travel department only employ professional individuals, who search for the best possible rates to offer our members. Technical errors at the hotel are out of the control of our company. Anytime a member informs us that any reservation is being charged at a price different then what we reserved; the member is compensated. Mr. Robert is still a member with United Vacation Network, and all of his concerns have been addressed. Member satisfaction is of paramount importance to us. It is our wish that all membership holders receive the maximum value from their United Vacation Network membership, to that end; we will do our utmost to continue servicing them with the high quality of care that characterizes our company.
