I just googled this company to get their phone number and was appalled that someone would post such a thing. I felt compeled to share a very different experience that I had with the same company. I am currently a high school English teacher in the great state of New York, and was down in Florida a few weeks ago visiting my mother. I came across a table where a young girl asked me if I wanted to see the promotion she was doing. She introduced both the company she worked for and the charity that they affiliate with. I purchased two tshirts, and when I got home to New York- showed them to my husband. He was immediatly skeptical- and gave me grief because I hadnt asked too many questions of the girl. I immediatly called the 800 number on the back of the reciept and spoke to a woman at customer service. She told me that Unity is in fact a marketing company who does in fact work with charities. She explained the process and then referred me to the charity themselves. I spoke in length to a wonderful woman from their organization, and she explained to me that by working with marketing companies they are able to get 100x the exposure and create a steady influx of money that helps keep their organization open. I was looking for Unity's number to thank them for opening me up to this charity- as well as informing me of a service called Kids ID's- where I can have ID badges and bracelets created for my daughter. I would hope in the future that this website would post only lefitimate concerns and compaints. This attack that I read seemed rambling, innappropriate, uneducated and crass. I understand the service of a website such as this, but it seems that anyone can just go online and demean and degrade people and their place of business. If it was a legimate complaint of a negative experience I can understand, but this seemed personal and unnecessary. I understand freedom of speech, but it shouldnt cross the line of all out slander.
