I had the same problem others have written about. Back at the end of April 2 salesmen came to my door with the same story as all the others. I ordered a magazine from them and didn't think anything of it. After the sales men left(very pushy and sneaky) I realized I didn't have a receipt and that when figuring it out, the magazine was more expensive through them than through the store. They had given me the phone number to call if I wanted to cancel, within 3 days. I called that number and could never get a live person. I called my bank and put a stop payment on the check (funny that they wouldn't take credit cards).

On June 29, 2005 I received a letter from Check Game Solutions, inc stating the my account had been sent to collections for the $52 magazine AND $30 bank fee. I called the collection agency and went round and round with the person on the phone. She said I hadn't cancelled the correct way, per the back of the receipt. Again, I reiterated that I never got a receipt. I said I would cover the bank fee, but did not want to pay for a magazine I didn't want. She said my account would still be forwarded on to the credit report companies until I paid it.

This is totally unfair! Why should I have to pay for something I don't want.

Ok I previously worked to Steve Ingram also and i know all about door to door sales. it is not a good or honest think, i was only there for a couple month. You start work at 7 am and dont usually get home until 11 pm and do the same thing over and over. NO days off unless your in the van driving to another city or state. i dont care how many magazines i sold i only made $20 a night. some made more at time. if you didnt make your average sale a day you got yelled at and were luck if you got any money. It is a hard life. wondering what neibhorhood you would be droped off in. wondering if you'll make any money and what time they will pick you up. As a female it is scary to be left alone in a strange neibhorhood at 8pm. This whole door to door stuff is a rip off. there all out to get money and thats all. doing this was the worst thing i have ever done Candace Riverdale, California

I worked for Steve Ingram and Mike Robinson for Universal Subscription Agency. I worked there for almost a year and a half. All the stories that I read on here are some what funny to me in a way. Everyone is always complaining about the same thing. And that is that they didnt canceled in the right way. Well here is an idea how about you dont buy it unless you want it. Or you want to help send someone to Cancun. IF people can waste $50 on smokes or at the bar or on stuff you dont need, why are you complaining about the mag you bought that put a little money in somones pocket helped them to cancun and kept you from wasting your money on somthing stupid. Carma comes around, thoses who do good things have good things done to them. The only reason I know longer work for them is because me and my boyfriend are having a baby boy in september and it was time to stop traveling. I saw over 30 states in under 2 years for free, how many people can say that? Bottom line you get what you pay for.You bought the stuff because you liked who was selling it to you. Not because you wanted it.
