Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I attended Univeristy of Phoenix starting on 2/9/2009. This school has been receiving Financial aid for me and student loans. Out of all the student loans and finanical aid I have been receiving from the government and lenders, I have only received one disbursement from the school that was sent to my home like two months after I started school. But the Finance counselors will  tell you that you will receive your disbursement after you have been in school for three weeks or 21 days .  I have had work that I have submitted in in aadvanced, then receive an e-mail a week later saying that they have not received an assignment from me.Then it is to late to turn the work in. This is their way of making you fail your classes so that you will have to take them over and pay them more money to take the same class again. University of Phoenix employees are also very rude. They will not answer the phone. The only way that I can speak to  someone  is by speaking to a call- center representative  at the University of Phoenix call-center and asking to speak to a finance counselor. They will not return any phone calls. They tell you to leave your IRN, name  and phone number and they will return your phone call, but they never do. I was even transfered by one of the University of Phoenix employees to an voice mail because I asked to speak to an higher manger or someone over the entire finacial aid department. Which the gentle men knew what he was doing because he had told me previously during this phone call that his manger was not avaiable. He was mad because i told him that  I wanted to speak with someone regarding my student account, because everytime I call my finacne counselor is not avaibale so I have to speak with another finance counselor, and they don't know anything regarding my account. They will put you on hold to review your account for about 20 minutes, then tell you that you are going to have to talk to your finace counselor. I told him that I was tired of being trasferred around to differnt people who keep providing me with differnt infomration everytime I call. So I asked to speak to a counselor about withdrawing. He never let me speak to anyone about with drawing. I am still trying withdraw at this present time. There are many more people out their who are being done the same way. UNiversity of Phonexix needs to be shut down permanetly.

I have been reading through these reports from some of the former students of University of Phoenix and I have to say i completely disagree. I have been attending this school for almost two years and I have never had the problems that were spoke of. my financial aid has always been as it should. My instructors have always been helpful and in point of fact I was in a car wreck and they were more than happy to work with me during my recovery. i am very proud of the work I have put into school and I take it personnaly when someone says that these courses are easy courses. That is like saying those of us that worked hard for our grades are stupid for having to work hard. You are entitled to your opinion but I am also entitled to mine.

I have already taken 2 courses at axia college and have had no problems. My counselors and advisors are awesome and I got my reimbursement from my grants and loans right when they said that I would. My instructors are awesome. Im sorry that you are having issues but maybe its you and not them.

I have been attending the University of Phoenix since 03/02/2009 and really can't say anything bad about them. I did my application for enrollment of the 22nd of Feb and did my FASFA online the same day. I still was able to start on the second of march which was the soonest start date. My financial aid money did take about 2 months to get to me, but really I couldn't complain because it was just extra money since I had nothing to pay upfront for school or any impending payment for school. The money was directly deposited into my account and my Financial aid counselor called me to tell me that I should have received my money. My academic counselor calls me once a month for two things, one is how I am doing and do I need any help and two, do you have any refferals. So far, I have referred over two friends and they love the school. They also had a smooth and easy process to get into the school. The only bad thing I can say about the school is their recent changes to the course syllabus which allows the teachers to modify due dates and certain assignments. When I first started, each class was pretty uniform and now different teachers have different schooling techniques. Other then that I would give UofP online otherwise known as AXIA COLLEGE high marks.

I get on this website and read all these complaints about UOP. I've been going there a little over a year and a half and have not had a single problem. I am about ready to start my bachelors program in Criminal Justice. I get financial aid too and have never had a problem with it. Remember, UOP is one of the fastest growing online schools, and one of the largest. I know several people who have had nothing but success with UOP.

To the two rebuttals to this report especially the one from the employee. I am sure University of Phoenix is committed to one thing and it is not helping its students. I have personal experience just like the original report owner and it is nothing but the run around. To the student having a great "experience" then I will say the university must pick students at random or simply have to allow a few students no problems so that they can maintain the snatch and grab. To anybody who reads this, APPLY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

I have also attended the University of Phoenix since 2/9/2009. I have my financial aid set up so that the school takes out what they need for my classes first and then give my disbursement back to me of what they do not use. Since I have started school I have gotten back at least 3 disbursements and all of my classes have been paid for. I am now starting my second year in college and have re-applied for financial aid. I check the status of my pending loans every week on my lenders site and keep in touch with my financial advisor and academic advisor at least once a week. There have been a few times when they did not call me back immediately, but I have always gotten a response from them as soon as they are able to get back to me, either through email or phone. I have never had problems with the financial aid department and I have never had problems with my assignments being lost. I am getting A's and a few B's, and I am also recieving excellent help with my classes both financially and academically. I am sorry that you are experiencing so many problems, and I really hope that UOPHX does not get shut down because they are really helping me to reach my dreams.
