Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I've been disputing charges with US Bank about the excess wear and tear charges they have billed me for on a 4 year old lease Sienna turned into John Elways' Manhattan Beach Toyota.

US Bank says I turned down getting the car inspected prior to the lease date. I informed every US bank caller that I was trading my car into the local toyota dealer for a new lease. No one ever told me that was not okay.

So I turned it in, signed a new lease with John Elways MB Toyota and weeks later I received a bill for $2,300 ($1,500 was for excess wear and tear) . I called to complain to US Bank and immediately after looking at the photos with me online, they reduced the 'wear and tear' charges by 1/2! Proving to me and the woman I spoke to that the charges they are charging me are ridiculous.

I've been sending letters and calling US Bank and not only are they rude but they won't discuss this with me. They continue arguing with me that "had you had the car looked at prior to turning it in...." no charges would have been made.

So basically they are punishing me for turning my car into a dealership I trusted.

My current bill for wear and tear is $733.00. Some of the things they are charging me for are things like CAR MATS that were dirty. My car was 4 (four) years old. It was in fantastic condition and since it was 4 years old and wasn't bubble-wrapped, they are nickel and diming me.

They sold the car at an auction as is and they did very well with the overall profit of the car. What they are doing to me is horrible and I need help fighting this.

I'd rather donate double the money to charity than to pay for something that is unfair and as this website is called a "ripoff."

Any help, advise or council would be wonderful.

Thank you,

Laurie

Did you in fact have the car looked at before turning it in? While it is obviously too late in this situation, I would advise anyone involved in any kind of lease to go through a joint inspection at the end of the lease period. As can be seen here, it can serve to protect the customer.
