I was called on two occassions in August to get a real good deal on a US Building. The price was not going to last very long.On the second occasion I finally said yes to them. The building was to be delivered to Halifax Nova Scotia by the end of sptember or first of October. I gave them a deposit by Visa of 2000.00 and agreed to pay the balance before shipment. In a couple of days I got the contract delivered by courier. On the contract was the agreement but my Visa number was in the lower left corner with the expiry date and all. I called them and said I was going to remove my visa number from the invoice because I did not like sending in this manner.I was told they were sorry and to send them a chque for the amount of 2000.00 After doing this in a day or so I got my Visa bill and I had been charged the 2000.00. I called them up and again they were sorry and I was told my cheque would be returned. I lost 110.00 on the exchange rate because for some reason they initially charged my Visa and then gave me a credit back and then charged again to my visa. Why I do not why ,only maybe they did not like personel cheques..I pay in Canadian dollars.

I did not hear any more from them until the end of September. I believe it was nearly the last day of the month I was called and was asked to get the balance of the money to them ASAP and it had to be a tellers cheque or bank note. I was also told the hurry was the truck was loaded and ready for shipment so when I sent the cheque off I had to call them with a tracking number so the delivery could proceed. I did what I was told but when I tried calling the shipping Lady with the tracking number I could not get any answer for over a week I tried but to no avail. I then sent an email to the person who initially sold me the building. The reply was the shipping lady had been away with personel problems. The next day I got a call from the shipper about them getting the cheque . Everything seemed OK. The next day I got a call from some manager telling me they could not ship the building to Canada because of some problem in crossing the border. I was asked if the building was shipped to the border and they take 1000.00 off the price would I pick it up; and I agreed providing it was sent to Calais or Houlton Maine border crossing. Everything seemed ok.

In the mean time I checked with the border Customs about me picking up the building and there was no problem. I also asked what the problem was with US Building shipping into Canada and I was told there should have been no problem.I thik They found that shipping to Canada was too expensive.

Now my problems are really starting. I was called from the shipper and was told I had to pick up the building in a place called Scarborough Maine. I looked this place up on a map and this is near the Maine , N.H. border. I told her the agreement was at the border and this was another 6 hour drive each way added on to 18 hours driving to the border and I refused to go that far.I told her to forget the whole deal and return my money.I was told if I canmcelled I would lose my deposit.I told her this was not fair and also said well just ship it to the border like the agreement. I was told she did not know any place in Calais or Houlton maine to ship the building to for holding until I pick it up. I was told I had to give her a place for delivery.I do not know anyone in these places I live in Canada not the USA and to find a place for delivery was her job not mine. She got very upset and so did I. I was called a few days later now we are getting close to the end of October she told me that she had possible found a place in Calais Maine. I asked her where this place was and when would the building be there.I was told I had to be there when the building arrived but she could not give me a date or a business name to pick it up yet.

Again a problem; I told her I also had a job and I would possible not be there when ths building arrived because I have to get days off to rent a truck and at least 2 days for the drive. This seemed to be a problem because they did not want to pay for holding the building in Calais and they did not want to pay someone with a forklift to put the item on my vehicle. I told her again this was not my problem and to let me know when and where to pick up the building.

Things just keep getting worse. The shipper then told me that they did not have a truck going that way for awhile and it would probably be another 3 weeks or so before the building was shipped. I told her that in Canada around the end of November there could be some very bad weather ( snow storms) and that I was not a truck driver and I am refusing to drive to the border this late in the year.If the building could be there next week I am off work and could possibly be there when it arrived. This was not possible because they had no truck going that way .Again we had words and I tod her to cancel the whole deal. I was told by her I would lose my 2000.00 deposit.I argued but to no avail.

The next day aroung 1700 hours I got a call from someone introducing himself as the manager for US Buildings. I was immediastely told that I had been giving his employees a hard time on the phone and the conversation was being recorded and that all my conversations were recorded.I told him that I was glad of this as this would give me some grounds for my lawyer to work with. This guy lost it and I was told he would be keeping all of mu f=-----ing money and I would not be getting a penny back. Every cent would be used up in Lawyers and that I was an idiot and a few other things. I could not believe what I was hearing over the phone. I got enough of it and hung up on him. The next day I got an email confirming that they would not be returning any of my money because of all of the problems I caused them

I gave all the info to a Lawyer and he is having a difficult time dealing with these people.and its costing me more money To all of you beware:::::

Before buying I recommend DO NOT BUY anything from this company and if you decide to I recommend you get the building delivered to your property before paying. I have probably lost alll of my money plus what the Lawyer will charge me.

I am in my fifties and this is the worst deal yet so beware

Help from Visa

I recently called Visa and told them about my dealings with US Buildings and how they used my visa on 3 occasions and only one occasion they had my consent. It also cost me over 100.00 because of their usage of my visa. The reply from Visa was I would be reimbursed the 100.00 and US Building would be contacted by them and that it is fraudulent to not distroy a Visa number after its permitted usage Only.By the way I had to have my Visa number changed because of this . I have obtained the services of a Lawyer but after almost 2 weeks no one at US Building has returned his phone calls. My next step before it costs me more money for a lawyer is to send a report to the BBB in Florida to see what they can do about my loss.
