After doing some research I decided to enroll in their Veterinary Technician distance learning program.  The short and sweet, they are not accredited by the AVMA and the certification is only worth the paper to wipe my rear end with.  After completion of the course I attempted numerous interviews with Doctors and practices in the DFW area and only then found out this was a complete waste of time.

I am also filing a report with the BBB and expect a full refund for failure to render services and false advertisement.  Do not waste your time with this company and if anyone is starting a class action suit against them please contact me as I will gladly join.  I have requested a full refund and only at that time will I consider thius matter to be satisfied.  Do not waste your money or time here people you will find your certificate to be worthless.

I regret you are experiencing difficulty in finding a job. In the 17 years U.S. Career Institute has offered Veterinary Assistant training, this is the first time we have heard of an issue related to the AVMA.  U.S. Career Institutes literature, website, catalog and enrollment agreement provide information that U.S. Career Institute is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).  There is no reference to AVMA accreditation.  Additionally, the literature, website, catalog and enrollment agreement clearly specify it is the responsibility of the student to verify whether or not the clock hours earned from the course will meet specific state, municipal and/or employee training requirements.

Our Student Services Department is also available to assist you with your questions at 1-800-347-7899.
