U.S. Congress Senate VA Health Benefits Rip Off Washington, District of Columbia
I am a Viet Nam Veteran, with nine years service (1963-1967 & 1972-1977) and was honored to serve my country. Being the only surviving son, I was not sent over, but I still served my country honorably during that period. Ive worked hard all my life and have just started drawing my Social Security at 65. I just applied for my VA Health enrollment, only to find out Im totally on the Bottom of the list 8g, because we made too much (good Liberal Law) last year in 2009. Ive been unemployed, since May 09 and my wife only works part time. Still we make over the $43,000 allowed--- for the moment; therefore, I have no medical coverage through the VA. This forces us to have to look for Personal insurance, at more expense.
I know the system is set up to give the Injured priority, which I have no problem, they should be first and receive the best care. The problem I have, it was understood (naive me) when I served, that we would have VA Health coverage when needed. OK, I will be needing it, soon when my wife retires (drawing a big $200-$300 a month). Regardless, it was understood that the Benefits was based on ones Service. Well, the Liberals, Progressives, Socialist and Communist have taken over that too, and now its based mainly on how much you make (You make more than others, so you dont need it because ----- YOU can afford more that others!) NOT because you served your country Honorably.
Why does one have to be in a Hardship or Skid Row situation to draw benefits? What happen to at least Some coverage for all that served, regardless of condition. It should be base, fairly across the board, for all for Ones Service to his/her country--- not on How much one Makes!!!
And Congress refuses to understand why were Cleaning House in the upcoming elections.
