USA Direct, Las Vegas, NV Almost scammed Las Vegas NV
I got a call this morning from an unknown number. The man on the other end said he was from US Customs Service at Miami Airport. He stated he had been sent a package 3 weeks ago and that notifications had been sent that I had this package there to respond to so they could forward it. It was from USA Direct in Las Vegas. He wanted to give me a tracking number to further investigate it so I could receive it.
I told him it was weird that a US package was sent to a customs office from a US business (red flag). I asked why would they send a package to Miami when my Florida address was no where near there. (another red flag) I asked how big was the package and he said it was an envelop. I said I had not ordered anything from that company in or out of this country.
He said again, I could track the item and go from there but since it had been 3 weeks, time was up to keep it there.
I told him to "refuse, send back to sender" and he hung up on me.
This had to be a phishing scam so I went to the computer and searched "USA Direct" and found this site. The complaint shown first was from back in 2011 so I thought I ought to share my experience and let people know that this is still alive and working whoever is gullible to fall for it.
